I stopped in to try Newport Sandwich Shop with new chef and menu. Oh my goodness, Eggplant Caprese Sandwich was so delicious. It reminded me of my grandmother's homemade recipe with thinly sliced eggplant and homemade marinara. Fried Mozzarella was also yummy. There's a deli counter with fresh chicken, tuna salad and potato salad. Soups made fresh daily. Fair prices. I'm happy to have this shop next door to the IRYS. Very friendly staff and inviting atmosphere.
The caprese and eggplant sandwich is amazing. All homemade…it will be my go to spot for sure.
The place is really disgusting. The food is below expectations. I saw bugs running on the counter and the owner was very rude.
