“My fiancé and I stopped here on a Friday night for the first time. We had tried a handful of other bars in Newport that were all packed but when we walked into Bar 12 it was almost empty. I ordered the Secret Garden cocktail and was so impressed with the presentation! It tasted as good as it looked too! I stopped by again this past Friday with four of my friends and tried the lemon meringue drink this time. It was amazing- super sweet and tasted just like a lemon bar! The prices are really reasonable for the quality of the cocktails and the location. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or small groups, the bathroom was super clean, and overall I’m just really shocked it wasn’t more crowded both times I went!“

“I was so hungry because I had skipped breakfast on my east coast road trip. After touring the Breakers I needed some sustenance and I found this place on happy cow. A salad and smoothie sounded like just the thing to fill me up with something fresher than fast food. I decided to get the East Grain Bowl and my brother got the chickpea salad sandwich. Both were large and filling. The ingredients were so fresh and tasted amazing. I love kimchi and eggplant. The east bowl had both and was a perfect mix of flavors I crave. I need more fresh greens in my life. The bowls are perfect for a summer day because they are light and filling. It isn't like shoving an impossible burger into your face and feeling all that grease sit in your stomach. This feels like good fuel for my body and I wish I could find a place like this everywhere I travel. I highly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, and anything in between. Next time I'm in this area I will come here again.“

“Steph and the team at scratch were SUPERB! Our catering order was perfect (tho we were sad the croissant machine was down) every thing was piping hot (or nice an cool). Everything was SOOO good. Ordering was easy, Steph ensured we had a great variety and enough to feed the post-wedding crowd. We did have breakfast here and it was stellar! “We had a wonderful dinner during Restaurant Week. Without question, it was the best combination of value and we experienced. The $30pp 3 course meal was delicious. We had mussels and crispy tuna eggroll. For the main we had cod/polenta puttanesca and pasta w/white clam sauce. Both big servings and cooked perfectly. Dessert was crème brûlée and gelato. Service was friendly. The only negative was the noise level, a little loud and close. Still a very enjoyable evening. We will be back.“

“We came in Sunday evening for a small dinner and dessert and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and filled our drinks quickly. It was pretty empty when we got there but packed when we left. The food was AMAZING. We shared the short rib special and it was so good! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and bread pudding which were also sooooo good! The restaurant itself was beautiful. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely dine here again!“

“We had another wonderful meal at The Food Shack tonight. My dad and I shared the nachos which were superb and my daughter enjoyed her rice bowl. And don’t forget a side of plantains! Also they serve local beer now which is a bonus. You need to eat here!“

“It's a well stocked convenience store and gas station. I like how clean they keep it. This goes for the 2 unisex bathrooms that have that are greatly appreciated.I like how they ALWAYS have at least 2 workers on shift and you never wait in line. And now Cumby's has inexplicably raised the price of a coffee by another significant amount (the second time in a year, this one is even higher, now a 1.80 something) Neon is the best deal.The food and drink prices with the exception of coffee are pretty high. That's my only criticism. But Im a regular anyway. For my purposes it's a great convenience store.“

“Pretty good subs, price is reasonable and they were made fast and correctly. The bread was really good and fresh also.

Wasn't sure being in a gas station but I enjoyed my roast beef sub. Kinda convenient and on my regular commute.

Would be a great option if heading to the beach.“
