I’m not a coffee person, but my wife and friends are. They liked the coffee a lot. I had the burrito and it was good. So if you’re just visiting and like coffee. You should give this place a try

Outstanding coffee, food and service!!! Stopped on our road trip and this might be one of my favorite spots so far! The gent making our coffee was super informative (I ask a lot of questions) and kind. His drink making skills are out of this world! The owner came in shortly after we were finished and we got to meet him, he is the type of person that is all good vibes! Highly, HIGHLY recommend the stop, in fact make it a point to go if you’re anywhere close!

Place seems to be popular. Came in after 230p, no breakfast food service after 2:30 p.m.. 3 Star because of the hip hop music quite loud, and super slow wifi (less than 2mb/s). Seems like a nice place, but not what i needed.

I’ve never been more disappointed in a coffee shop…..only because I live 7 hours away and can’t enjoy their incredible coffee every day! Truly some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. I accidentally ordered the strawberry hibiscus, thinking it was more of a refresher than a coffee drink, but that ‘mistake’ turned out to be one of the best surprises ever. Normally I would never order something like that, but it was absolutely delicious. In fact, it was so good I went back the very next day just to order it again. If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!

Rich and complex espresso, amazing baristas. Terrific music, great vibe. House and rotational blends available. Indoor and outdoor seating. No views of the ocean, yet I would stop here again and again on the way to downtown Newport.

This is by far my favorite coffee shop, everyone working there is incredibly friendly. In addition to some of my absolute favorite coffee they have literally the best grilled cheese I've ever had. If anyone disagrees, this is the hill I'll die on. Plus they have a good selection of magic cards which helps fuel my booster pack addiction.
I did not like my order mostly because I had no idea what to expect (I wanted an americano and got a tiny cup of espresso that was way too sweet). When I told the guy I didn’t like it he didn’t care at all. No apologies just like shrugged and had to spend more money on another drink.

Simple Merchant Coffee is hands down the best specialty coffee shop in Rhode Island. Their espresso drinks are amazing — real, well-crafted coffee, not the sugar-heavy stuff you’d find at a chain like Starbucks. The drip coffee is outstanding too, with a high-quality black brew that has a delicate, tea-like flavor, plus they serve a solid, classic black coffee if that’s your style.
They also have great food, making it the perfect place to fuel up and get work done. Being right next to a coworking space makes it even better for productivity. Whether you’re here for a quick espresso or to spend the afternoon working, I highly, highly recommend stopping by.
