We had an extremely disturbing and traumatic experience involving a bartender at Smugglers.
During our visit, my partner was served an excessive amount of alcohol in a very short time, leading to visible intoxication. I had to step away briefly due to a personal emergency. In that short window, the bartender allegedly took advantage of the situation and removed my partner from the bar, ultimately taking her to a private residence at 9 Brewer St, where she was later found.
Law enforcement was involved and is actively investigating this incident. A police report has been filed, and this is now part of an official investigation.
We are sharing this to warn others. What happened was not just unethical — it was dangerous and completely unacceptable. Please use extreme caution if you are considering visiting Smugglers.

Sat out on the deck with drinks in hand - Chardonnay and Miller lite of course watching the sun set. Great atmosphere sitting in the Adirondack chairs.

Didn’t eat, but the drinks were cold, the view is amazing and the dart boards are legit. It’s a perfect dive bar; dark, hidden and tourist free.
Clean outdoor bar and grill right on Narragansett Bay, the view was outstanding. Food was good for a tourist area.

The atmosphere was lovely. The bartender was super efficient and a very nice guy. The fish and chips was so so good. So soft and fresh. LOADS of fries. The burger was cooked correctly, but could probably use a little salt. THE ONION RINGS, DAMN. Overall, it was great. Would go over and over again.

Garbage bar. Went to bartender to ask for tap water and she refused. Tried to make me pay $5 for bottled water. Do not come here. Place is complete garbage
Went for dinner. Sat by the waterfront with nice view. Had to order at bar and service was good. Bought variety of food. All was good.
