The Firehouse - A Vacation Rental

We had a fabulous experience! We were greeted by Victoria and she was amazing. Our room was perfect and SO clean and spacious. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need and made our stay very special. The staff even went above and beyond by decorating the room for our friend who we were celebrating a 50th birthday for! The location is ideal and our stay was memorable. Highly recommend!!

The Island House Newport was the perfect choice for our short stay in Newport. The room was spacious, well appointed and immaculate. The beds were so comfortable and well decorated. They had the cutest retro appliances and the complimentary waters were very much appreciated. The toiletries in the bathroom were much appreciated as well. It was an 8 minute walk to the Cliffwalk at Chanler and Easton Beach and 15-20 minute walk to the waterfront area. We left our car in the parking lot and walked everywhere. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We didn’t have time to use the bikes out back. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Newport.

This was an absolute gem of a place to stay! The room was comfortable and had so many special touches! The staff was so friendly and attentive. The highlight was probably the location, you’re a 10-20 min walk to pretty much anywhere you want to go, and having free parking was a luxury. I loved this place and would book again!

Great location... walk to Cliff Walk, AM Cup Ave, Thames etc. Great room... everything new. Linens etc spectacular. Will be back.

Def need to upgrade to the suites as the premier king rooms are tiny and view the parking lot.

The hotel is a year old and lovely. Location is about .5 mile from water and .5 mile from cliff walk the other direction - so we found location perfect. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent place to stay. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was terrific! Spotless, great central location and friendly staff. A gem!

What a wonderful place! Rooms were spotless, beds are new - fresh and firm, service was impeccable!

The rooms were very nicely decorated and very comfortable and the service was great! The location was pretty good as well. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the wharfs and town and about 10 minutes to the Cliff Walk. We even walked to the mansions but those walks were much longer. Since we enjoy walking and the weather was nice, this was fine for us.

A delightful small hotel which is well located. Beds are high off the floor so don’t forget to ask for a stepping stool.

Definitely a great place to stay.

The ocean decor in the rooms is adorable. The hotel was very clean. I really liked the tiny kitchenette with the mini fridge and the daily water bottle restock. The hotel is a bit of a walk to the main area in town. I would estimate at least a 15-20 minute walk. The room could use more outlets and some seating in the room would be nice. I was under the impression the room came with free passes to the tennis hall of fame since that is what I read on the website, but the front desk worker didn’t know what I was referring to. That was disappointing since I know I read it. Despite that disappointment I still enjoyed the stay.

The one room suite we stayed in was absolutely beautiful. Living room was spacious with its own half bath and coffee station with fridge and microwave too. Bedroom was absolutely beautiful and the king size bed was comfortable and spacious. The main bathroom had a double vanity which was perfect for getting ready and was absolutely enormous for a hotel bathroom. The service was excellent and the women at the reception desk were beyond helpful when it came to any questions we had. I highly recommend taking one of the beach cruiser bicycles that comes with your hotel stay and exploring Newport that way. The location of the hotel is perfect. It's a 10 minute walk down to the main waterfront and shopping areas and it's a 15-20 minute walk to many of the gilded age mansions. My girlfriend and I took the bikes from the hotel one day and it took us less than 5 minutes to get to the cliff walk, breakers, the elms. I can't recommend this hotel enough for its amazing service, amenities and location. Will def be staying here again on the next excursion to Newport.
