I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Reef Restaurant in Newport, RI, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The highlight of my visit was the outstanding food and service provided by bartender Mark. The food at The Reef was simply outstanding. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The menu offered a wide range of options. The presentation of each dish was also impressive, adding to the overall dining experience. The service provided by bartender Mark was top-notch. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Mark was not only a skilled mixologist but also had a wealth of knowledge about the menu and was able to provide excellent recommendations. What impressed me the most about The Reef was the consistency in both the food and service. I have visited multiple times, and each time the quality has been consistently outstanding. This level of excellence is a testament to the dedication and skill of the staff, including bartender Mark.Overall, I highly recommend The Reef Restaurant in Newport, RI. We came for brunch on Sunday. I love the looks of the Reef. My husband had Lobster Benedict which was delicious. I had the Bailey's French Toast which was just french toast. I would not order it again. All in all we had a nice meal and yes we would come back. Prices were good too.

The location is nice with beautiful views, and customer service was great as well very attentive staff. Only thing is I would not recommend the food there at all.

service was great. Food and portions not so much. Salad was minuscule and added chucked was so dry- I said nothing because I wanted to just enjoy my company and the time with family - but another person in our party asked me if it was dry because to them it looked dry (across the table) the fish and chips were good and the shrimp scampi was WAY to lemony. Halibut special was so small and salsa topping was barely there. Probably wouldn't return unless maybe to enjoy the outdoors.

Prior to this visit, only came for the igloos. They sat us mid day school vacation week with 4 kids. Service was great, food awesome and the views even better. Can't wait to come back when the weather gets warm.

Great meal at the Reef! The spicy tuna crispy rice is a winner and even though it's a small plate it can be a meal when paired with a salad. Great to share or keep it for yourself, it's delicious! One entree was a halibut special with a corn risotto and fruit salsa. Fish cooked perfectly and flavors blended well for a great meal. The other entree was the Vegetable Napoleon...what a surprise! It had layers of all my favorites (spaghetti squash, portobello, cauliflower puree, spinach, sundried tomato) with quinoa and basil oil surrounding it. I usually go for a fish entree but I'm so glad I went for this. Beautiful presentation and the taste is just outstanding! Drinks were great, bartender (who was our waiter) was personable and efficient. In all, a great evening out! Look forward to summer on the outside deck with a great sunset view.

We arrived at 4:50 to a non busy restaurant. It was happy hour, so we were looking forward to a good meal and a quick turn around. Our drinks took forever (soda, Shirley temple, bottled beer and waters) and food even longer. (Prime rib, fried shrimp, grilled salmon)At 6:05 we got our food and asked for the check at the same time. The mashed potatoes had crusted over and micro green garnish had wilted from sitting under the lamp. The check took another :09. Drinks stayed empty unless we asked a manager to refill. The pretty view should be enjoyed at a restaurant where food quality and service match. It was way overpriced, underserved and poor quality for what the bill came to.

Outstanding is the first word that comes to mind. The service and food were the best. I grew with many family members working in oyster farms as well as living by the sea with clams, lobsters, etc. in abundance. We long for resturants that have fresh and properly prepared seafood. Reff was the best we have had in many years, just over the top. Our server Mary was exceptional and helpful. I should mention that there was a full Noreaster storm going on with wind chill of 29 degrees. Mary and her counterparts had to serve the outside igloo seating in the rain as well as manage the inside tables. Unbelievable!! She and the rest always kept a welcoming smile and positive attitude. Highly recommend Reefs menu and welcoming staff. This is a place to eat and forget about the world!!! Awesome effort by the chef as well.

We loved our Easter night dinner at this place! It has a beautiful view, nice stuff, quick service... !Everything we had was either very good or great! I cannot recommend enough the calamari appetizer, for example. It it was different than just straight forward grilled variety, and it was very tasty!

Cute little place on the water. Our bartender Mark was interesting and appropriate for our visit. The view is spectacular. My lobster roll, with no bun was great, plus my espresso martini was perfect.

A bit pricey for the food you actually get. The drinks were club priced, if not, more.
