When I checked into the starboard cottage I felt like I was walking into a coastal living magazine!!! It was perfect. I love the deep tub overlooking the water and the extra large shower and the awesome toiletries they provided. Laying in the bed with the doors open and listening to the waves, was so relaxing. The high tea they offer is fantastic, as well as the amazing breakfast! I recommend the lobster hash. My only complaint. One night was not enough!!

Excellent accommodation in a beach front cottage. Grounds were extensive. All staff were friendly and pleasant. Food was great. Management should replace the stainless steel flatware and holloware, it cheapens the experience. Stainless steel belongs in a hospital, not in a luxury hotel.

We were up for the week-end and enjoyed cocktails here end of week before going to a wake and funeral over two days. In the summer we had enjoyed the outdoors here but obviously too cold for that now. Inside service was fine. You pay for views and location. We were, however, disappointed when one of our friends indicated to us that they had followed our recommendation and gone up right AFTER the wake and because they had a couple of boxes of private documents in car did not want to hand the car over the valet and simply park it there - steps from the valet. We had checked the place out to have a special event there in Fall 23 as part of the reason we came up and wanted to see how it was in colder weather and what was open etc. It is now off our list. In STILL CoVid times not all want their car handled inside either - we were reluctant to allow it in the first place ourselves after seeing valet wipe nose with finger in the cold. Don't pull "its a liability for you to park your own car" card because guests that were staying there were coming and going IN their own cars and self parking. A wake is a sad time - you turned away someone (and our friend ) who simply wanted to regroup after it. before driving home for hours. in a lovely building with a great view. Your customer service left a lot to be desired.

I didn't know what to expect at the Castle Hill Inn. I went under the recommendation of one of the tour guides on Gansett Cruises. He did say it was hard to get a reservation this people booked from months ahead of time ! Well, our beach cottage, the Nautilus, was a piece of heaven, in what felt to be the end of the earth since you cannot sea beyond the ocean at this cottage. The breakfasts and high teas were phenomenal and the team was beyond anything any other hotel could have. The accomodation was CLEAN, and warm, and well lit. There was NO NOISE except for the sound of the surf and sea gulls. The staff was the most courteous I've ever had. Even in winter, this place is heaven on earth. I will be going back every year.

We have a tradition of doing a New Years brunch at this beautiful restaurant and we are never disappointed. The food, service and views are all worth the effort. Reservations a must and there are several rooms so ask for the sunny one if possible.

We enjoyed a great dinner on Christmas Day. It was romantic and the menu was perfect. The food and service was excellent and top notch. I ordered a half bottle of wine that easily complemented my dinner. My wife could enjoy her glass of a different wine.

Great atmosphere, food and service. However, we were overwhelmed by the number of bees on the patio. They attacked us! The servers were very friendly and the bartenders were also. Crazy good scenic view

We had a completely magical stay at the Beachfront cottages with my entire work team. We stayed in 6 beach cottages and everyone had a fantastic overnight experience with amazing waterfront views. Even in the rain in November, the place is just so special. We ate at the hotel dining room in our private room and were waited on like we were royalty! SIMPLY THE BEST in NEWPORT.

The fish literally smells bad, lobster tastes like you're chewing a metal can, vegan burger is disgusting. Love the view, but not worth coming back given the horrible food. People who rated it 5 must have had drinks and a couple small appetizers. WHY DOES CASTLE HILL NOT HIRE A PROPER CHEF? Seriously, just a good old chef from another Newport restaurant that actually offers edible food that doesn't make you want to throw up? Tried coming back some five times, unfortunately never ordered anything good.

Friends sister works for Maizy Leno - so first class and up scale. $$$$ Magnificent views Of bay from out door seating - service excellent - ample wine and beer list but pricey Portions generous food expensive - hamburgers lobster rolls 5 out of 5

The location is breathtaking, and the view is undeniably 5 stars. Some other places where Castle Hill received 5 stars is in it’s service employees (restaurant waiters, hosts, valet, tea servers) - all were superb. However, there were definitely some service areas that could use some work. The front desk staff never seemed to know the exact answers to questions and didn’t seem eager to get them. When we checked in, it felt a bit hard to get helpful information. Granted, we were there during Labor Day weekend, so it’s possible that we had *holiday* staff. This was the only place where we felt unwelcome at the hotel, which seems odd. The other frustration came from housekeeping. We were 3 adult women staying in a Beach House (“house” is a strong word), however, they kept making the room up for two. I mentioned at reservation, prior to our arrival talking to the concierge, at check-in and throughout the stay that there were 3 of us, but there seemed to be a disconnect between the front desk and housekeeping. For example, on night 2 we called to ask that turndown service please pull out the sofa bed. They did it that night but not the following night. In any other setting, this would be petty, but we were paying over 2K per night for a very small room (it’s a room not a house). You expect exemplary service when paying that much for such a small space. The breakfast was amazing. Again - we dealt with several waitstaff, valet personnel, & hosts that made us feel welcome and special - they deserve so much praise!! ??????

Definitely worth a visit at anytime of day for the views. The bartending and valet staff very nice. We only came for drinks but next visit will be sure to come for a meal. Make a reservation for that definitely. The views are incredible and relaxing. No time limit for sitting on the lawn area. Only complaint would be should add some sort of shade coverage in the lawn area where the Adirondacks are. Looking to stay for our anniversary in May 2023 but already looks booked out! Sad.

We had a wonderful weekend in the Turret suit in early august. We came to my sister's wedding. Most mornings we had breakfast delivered to the room and especially enjoyed the lobster hash. The hotel has a boat that wull take you into Newport, which my eight-year-old son especially loved. That is a great help with not having to park. The access to the beach right out your door is nothing like we can have at home. Service was entirely first-rate. The front desk helped us with dinner reservations and information about the mansions. The valet desk helped us multiple times along with Sydney set up a private sail for us!! There are many places to have a great cocktail including an indoor / outdoor bar. The only thing to note is you need dinner reservations at most places around Newport in the sunner, but that's common sense to anyone who travels. We tried everything the hotel has to offer from the super massage to the bicycle rental. The only downside is you don't see enough people of color running around.

Are you a fan of the Gilmore Girls and wanted to stay at an inn like Lorelei’s? But it’s run by children? And instead of Sukie’s cooking, you get food poisoning? This place is for you! I’m not sure what the story is here, and for a small inn charging Four Seasons prices, there should be no story but they seem to run some sort of international indentured college student program here which means I didn’t receive service from any employee who I could confidently say can legally drink in this country. Why is this an issue? The young staff did not have the experience with providing customer service to guests expecting a $2K/night experience or have the local knowledge to be useful. For example, they sent us to the local train station 2 hours early when you can really just stroll in 10 mins before to catch your train. We stayed at a beach house which was beautiful and had a great view of the beach. Cons: The room had an old a/c unit which was very loud in volume and low in effort with those shutters that are in the bathroom which allows zero bathroom privacy and is a hotel trend that needs to to die. The beach was not well maintained and seaweed was left for days to bake in the sun which caused a lovely smell. You also need to announce yourself as a guest of the inn when you want to eat, otherwise they will tell you you need a reservation to sit. We figured this out on the second day when they wouldn’t seat us for the second time and said in frustration, but we’re staying here?! And then was told oh we do have seats for guests of the inn. Unfortunately, after being seated I did get food poisoning and threw my guts up in the early morning after dining here. If you’re a New Yorker without a car, this place is not for you. Lyfts and Ubers are available but hard to come by. I will not be returning, bottom line the service and the quality of the property do not justify the price tag.

We were not there at a time appropriate for fine dining and to experience their stellar wine selection. But we stopped by for a drink and to sit outdoor the bar and enjoy the spectacular view. But be prepared to pay!! Two drinks with tip and valet parking ran us $70.00! Nice memory but sticker shock.
