We lived in Providence for over 40 years, now live elsewhere. So our visits to Cafe Nuovo are less frequent. Last night was a reminder of how much we enjoy it and how special it is. Noteworthy is the size of the menu (extensive!) and the excellence of the list of wines by the glass. But there is not a single thing we would criticize. This is the place for a very special dinner.
Outstanding food and service, wonderful drinks, wait staff is attentive to all details. Really a must for fine continental style dining in RI. My dad jokingly mentioned if they had grilled cheese and as a side dish the waiter served him mini- grilled cheese sandwiches. Enough said, can't go back soon enough.
Our waitress, Sarah, was very accommodating and courteous. The food was beautifully presented, creatively prepared and delicious. One of us had the special pasta dish of the evening. All of the pasta is made in-house. The dish was sheer perfection! We loved the raspberry tiramisu. It had a light, delicate texture and taste.
