As a first-time guest, here's what I have to say; I was excited by the table-side flambé. Unfortunately, our waiter discouraged us from ordering a flambé dessert, explaining: “The kitchen is busy and we only have two guys doing flambé tonight.” That was disappointing—especially since the restaurant was only about half full.

Here’s what I learned:

• If you want flambé, stick to one of the two dinner items listed on the menu.
• Dessert flambé is apparently off-limits, Fat Chance!, at least on busy nights.

Capriccio has the potential to deliver a truly memorable experience, better planning, scheduling, and training would make a big difference. The atmosphere was inviting—the place smelled fantastic when we arrived. But we left dissapointed and frustrated.

Dinning at its finest. The food, and ambiance is on another level. This is truly one of Rhode Island's best restaurant.

We decided to go here for our anniversary after seeing favorable reviews online. We couldn't have been any more disappointed by the experience.

First thing we noticed was the chaoticness of the wait staff navigating the dining room. It was also pretty loud in there.

However, the biggest disappointment came from the food. I feel like we weren't only robbed a great experience, but the $265.00 pre gratuity bill was the biggest crime.

We ordered two appetizers which were fine. We enjoyed the Grilled Caprese appetizer.

However, we ordered the Beef Wellington, asking for it them both to be medium. What we received was laughable for such a supposed high end restaurant. Both steaks came out rare, blue in the middle, with the pastry barely cooked. The whole thing exploded when I cut into it.

I am not picky, so I decided to eat it without complaint, but my wife struggled to get past the blue and bleeding steak. The plate was covered in blood, and the pastry was a ball of play doh from being so undercooked.

It took 10 minutes just to find our waiter to get them to fix her plate. I thought to myself that being such a high end place, they'd bring her a new one, cooked to temp, and without the pastry being raw.

Nope! 5 minutes later, they bring her steak back, with the pastry thrown away, and it clearly having been put in the oven or mocrowave- who knows. What was laughable was that the steak was still undercooked and they threw on a bunch of hard undercooked carrots. It was disgusting.

Thats not even mentioning the $18 drinks that were already in a small glass, containing 90% ice. So much ice in fact, that it hurt your teeth and made it difficult to drink the few drops of alcohol they spared.

I will never be coming back to this place and I will be sure to make sure my friends and family dont make the same mistake we did.

We ended up spending $315.00 for two entrees, two appetizers, and four drinks. For a dismal experience that almost ruined our special night, if it hadn't provided humor after the fact, with how God awful it was.

Crazy they can get away with serving such mediocre food for outrageous prices. I could cook a Wellington better than they did.

Be sure to look at the photos for how raw and gross both plates were.

Definitely the best Veal Saltimbocca that I have ever tasted. The lobster bisque was a flavorful delight to start the meal also. I hope to make it back to Providence to visit again soon.

Staff very friendly and there for anything before you request. Timing on everything was better that perfect. Be back very soon. Can't wait. Prices very reasonable for the food and service. Felt like a queen! Thank you

Excellent service, authentic charm of 50 years ago remains palpable. Food was excellent. Shrimp scampi made tableside and the pasta dishes are clearly fresh and made on premises. Veal Parm was exceptional and the sauce was definitely an old family recipe. Highly recommend.

Food and atmosphere were top tier. Seating request made when booking was met. No mention of the fact that we were celebrating a birthday (also in the booking notes). Service was mixed, attending server was very short and no specials were mentioned to us (we heard specials given to other tables). We waited almost an hour for our food order to be taken. We did enjoy the drinks while we waited but would have liked to have our order in sooner. Walk around staff was friendly and the man that came to our table for the flambé gave us more attention than our actual server after the meal was served. All that said, our server was very friendly when we were wrapping up. Our food was boxed, bill was delivered, and we even got a few extra breadsticks to go. Not sure if they just had a rough time with another table or something.

My family and I dinned here for Brown universities family weekend.

The restaurant has an incredibly unique layout, stairs to go down are located immediately at the entrance and the majority of the establishment is an elegant, cozy basement. Overall, the atmosphere is very warm- Great for dates, family & celebrations.

They have a standard sized menu and a ton of wines which my family enjoyed. However the bottle they chose was dated from 2022, and I think the taste was a bit immature considering most wines need a few more years to fully taste their best.

The food was ok in my opinion. Everyone agreed that their pasta was a salty, I think the ingredients were great quality but it definitely was over salted. I'd suggest asking them not to include salt in your food so you can control it your self.

Service was impeccable. Our waiter(s) had phenomenal table side manor. But to be transparent, we felt rushed! The waiters made us feel like their main objective was to get us out as quickly as possible. I'm sure some may appreciate it, but I think it's more than appropriate to allocate at least 5 minutes to decide what to order.

In conclusion:
Id recommend this restaurant for special occasions, just be sure to request your food unsalted, and add it in your self if interested to avoid our situation. And if you care about the taste of your wine, be sure to look at the bottle year.

Locals say to go to Camille’s, but I’ve had good past experiences at Capriccio's in the past, so Now that I live downtown thought I’d go back. Big mistake. Went to the back bar for a bite but it was full. The restaurant was basically empty so asked for a table, but the barkeep said a party would be leaving shortly and I could sit there

20 minutes later and they’re still there hustling. 😔😔😔 And $20 for Bullet Rye?!.
