I loved my experience here. The type of place reserved for very special occasions. This is a NYC Michelin star restaurant’s chef opening a similar style place that is currently set up for a crafted tasting menu and they don’t have an a-la-carte option (for now) ; this is a place where you will spend a lot to dine here but it’s fancy and fun. It does feel like a fine dining experience. I just wanted to explain because I’ve heard a lot of questions about this place before I even dined here. You currently cannot come here and expect to just try a little for cheaper; but you currently need to enjoy their whole set course at a fixed price per person. Their menu seems to change daily.
I’m not sure which of these things will change for their next menu but I LOVED the zucchini bread. Definitely going to be thinking about that one for a while. Perfect texture. Loved the butter it came with.
Things seem experimental and different like their halibut and lobster dish was unlike anything I’ve ever had. We did have an allergy and they had substitutions but we told them on our reservation; which is seems like most people should do when dining here because of the nature of the menu so you can be sure they are able to accommodate.
I really like what they’ve done with the place here. It feels like a totally different experience and the corner seats feel totally romantic : definitely the best seats in the house, the nook style ones.
Even though they have an open concept kitchen (which is fun to see!) You can still perfectly hear your guests only.
They had everything you could need in the restroom as well and I liked that they organized the restroom to be far from the dining area in the hallway. There is intention in everything they did with the designs. Even the lights are romantic.
Overall, I would definitely recommend for an important celebration.

Claudine is a welcome addition to the Providence dining scene! The space is minimal and pristine, with service that is confident and very attentive. We chose the tasting menu with non-alcoholic pairings — both were thoughtful, precise, and well-executed. The dishes showed technical skill without sacrificing flavor, and the NA pairings were far more than an afterthought. Claudine signals a new level of dining in the city and we cannot wait to go back! Congrats Maggie & Josh!

Claudine is exactly what Providence has been waiting for—a refined, elevated dining experience that rivals the finest pre-fixe restaurants in the country. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that Maggie and Josh, the talented husband-and-wife duo behind the concept, have honed their craft in some of the nation’s most prestigious kitchens. Their passion, precision, and creativity shine through in every detail.
The ambiance was warm, elegant, and intimate without being pretentious. The service was exceptional—Michael, Andrew, and the entire team made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Their attentiveness was not only appreciated but remarkable, especially when accommodating my wife’s shellfish allergy. The team effortlessly customized her entire tasting menu, and each dish was nothing short of exquisite. I must admit I had to try a bite or two of her dishes as well!
The cuisine is a beautiful balance of French inspiration and New England sensibility, highlighting seasonal and locally sourced ingredients in the most thoughtful ways. Every course was well-composed, layered, and memorable. We also opted for the wine pairing, which was a masterclass in itself. Each selection was distinct, perfectly paired, and introduced us to wines we had never tried before.
Claudine manages to feel luxurious yet approachable—a rare and wonderful combination. Maggie and Josh have created something truly special, and it’s a place we’ll return to again and again. If you’re looking for an exceptional culinary experience in Providence, this is it. A must-visit.

Our dining experience at Claudine was nothing short of extraordinary. Every detail was thoughtfully considered - from the cozy, intimate booth where we were seated to the stunning presentation of each course. The staff was impressively knowledgeable and created an atmosphere that felt both personal and exclusive. We can’t wait to come back!!

Just went last night for our anniversary. Everything was amazing! Service was excellent and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Definitely a special occasion place but it was truly one of the best fine dining experience I’ve ever had.
No yelling from the open kitchen, no employee on the phone (not even the hostess who did not seem busy… slow seating for perfect plating). Step outside of the traditional steakhouse or Federal Hill spot and give this place a try. Expensive….. but nice things cost money.

My friend and I had a stunning dinner at Claudine last evening. Cheffs Josh Finger and Maggie McConnell are fabulous, and the 10 courses were exquisite. Our Maitre'D, Michael, carefully took us through the provenance of each plate and we were so impressed at the level of detail in all aspects of the restaurant. From the beautiful little brass spoons and custom made shell shaped ceramic oyster dishes set in a bed of seaweed, to the wide range of plates, cups, and bowls for the other various servings, we were very impressed. The entry sequence and design of the dining room is lovely with a silver metallic ceiling with a lovely recessed cove completing its shape. All the dishes were delicious and thoughtfully presented. We will be back. Outstanding.

I visited Claudine for the first time tonight, and I was smiling ear to ear from the second I stepped in to the second I left. They’ve done such an amazing job creating a space that feels isolated from the world outside so you can focus entirely on your experience there. The decor is so well done. Each and every staff member was so welcoming and kind and thoughtful, they somehow make you feel like the only table they’re working tonight. The food outstanding with ingredient combinations I’d never think of in a million years, and the wine pairing (if you opt for it) does genuinely elevate every dish. I just had such a nice time, and I’m excited to go back someday

Providence is a brilliant city with a vibrant culinary scene. While there are some noteworthy restaurants, none have truly been GREAT—until now. Claudine’s is the place we've always deserved, arriving just in time for the anticipated Michelin inspectors, who plan to evaluate primarily Boston, but we’ve been told they would expand to the “surrounding area”.
The attention to detail in each dish is extraordinary, reflecting the chefs' training in the best restaurants across in the country (Per Se and French Laundry). They've taken local flavors and reimagined them into creations that will leave you in awe.
For those unfamiliar with tasting menus, the concept involves savoring various small dishes. Instead of experiencing that initial euphoria that fades with larger plates, the small portions keep the excitement alive, and at Claudine’s, this was certainly the case.
The space strikes a perfect balance between elegant and modern, accommodating just 26 guests. With such a limited seating capacity, the entire front-of-house team provides attentive, warm, and orchestrated service.
Claudine’s is an experience you must not miss

It is pretty remarkable that a small city like PVD has a restaurant like this. Over the past 15-20 years have been very fortunate to go to a number of Michelin rated restaurants in the US and Europe. Claudine was absolutely a comparable experience. Thank you so much for bringing this to us in our fair city! Cannot wait to dine there again!

After first tasting chefs Josh Finger and Maggie McConnell’s cooking at a pop-up dinner two years ago, I’ve been counting down the days until they opened their own restaurant. Claudine not only met those expectations—it exceeded them.
Located in Downtown Providence, Claudine offers an evolving 8+ course tasting menu for $165, centered on New England ingredients and executed with classic French techniques. The space is beautifully designed, warm and intimate, and the attention to detail is extraordinary—think chilled spoons for your cold strawberry glacé. Every course feels intentional, refined, and deeply satisfying.
What sets Claudine apart is its balance of elegance and ease. This is fine dining without any pretension. Whether it’s your first tasting menu or your fiftieth, you’ll feel comfortable and happy.
Pro Tips:
• Perfect for special occasions
• Best enjoyed in pairs or small groups
• Book in advance—reservations go fast
• Exceptionally allergy-aware and accommodating
Claudine is a memorable experience from start to finish—and one of the most exciting additions to Providence’s dining scene.

Helmed by chefs Josh Finger and Maggie McConnell—alumni of NYC’s Per Se and The French Laundry—the restaurant offers an evolving eight-course tasting menu priced at $165, with an optional $100 wine pairing.
