This place just assumed my friend had “too much too drink” when she had 2 drinks. Just denying people willy nilly. Insane behavior. But I saw someone being let in making active homophobic comment on the line. Absurd.

Your bouncers hit women. They are constantly assaulting people. This is NOT a safe space

I have been going to EGO for a few years now and never had any problems until recently this year (2025). The security/bouncers are just so rude now and it makes me rethink about going back there. Why should I give a business my money when they treat me and my friends like shit. I understand it can be frustrating dealing with people especially when they are drunk. But when my friend group is actively walking out the club and a security guard threatens to smack my friend if they don’t hurry up and get out, that’s when I have a problem. You don’t threaten people especially when they aren’t doing anything to you. It’s sad, really enjoyed coming here and whenever anyone suggested going to EGO it was a no brainer we were always down, but I think it’s time to look for a new place to have fun that won’t threaten us :).

Aside from the disrespectful security/bouncers- the bartenders have always been super sweet and the music is good. So thank you to the bartenders and DJs, y’all are amazing.

I went in the dead of winter with my friends. I paid to have my coat checked. We had lots of fun and the vibes were good. However, when we were leaving, we discovered that the person doing coat check was clearly not actually checking tags. They lost my coat. When it became clear that there was a problem, the coat checker pretended that she had actually been checking tags the whole time, which pissed me off.
The manager was kind and helpful, and eventually compensated me for part of what was lost, but I had to walk around Providence in January in a thin sweatshirt. Less than ideal.

What a weekend job and a black shirt does to inflate a security guards ego is insane. I see why the club is named that because most of the security team is on a power trip.

Judging by other reviews this isn’t just a unique experience but I’ve had a drink ripped from my hands and thrown away because I let a friend hold it. We left soon after. I felt like eyes were all on us the entire rest of our stay because I let my friend hold my drink to take a photo.

The bartenders are so sweet and complimented us and made a pretty dang good mixed drink! Yet I couldn’t even taste it for very long as it ended up in the trash. Physically grabbing it out of someone’s hand is crossing the line.

You work security at a queer night club. Get over yourselves.

I went Friday 11/7 and got turned away a the door because my friend was disabled. My other friend who had been with us the whole night was getting patted down, and the other security guy turned us away “for being too drunk” after having one drink.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Very unprofessional and disappointing

Went to this club last night with a friend, and the staff completely messed up our night. They gave me a wristband at the door but not my friend, even though we both showed ID. About an hour later, a security guard rudely snatched my friend’s drink and tried to kick him out because he didn’t have a wristband — which was their mistake, not his.

When he went to show his ID again, they even denied seeing him come in, which made no sense. The manager eventually gave him a wristband, but the whole situation was handled so poorly and unprofessionally. The staff clearly needs better training and communication.

I’ve heard so many great things about this establishment from my friend so I wanted to go check it out. I get there with my friend and they completely deny his entry at first because he had an outside drink. The security told him to finish it or throw it away which he did and then we tried to head back they stopped us and completely denied us entry for no reason and when I asked for the reason why we cannot enter, they were very disrespectful and said that they’ve already told us, I tried explaining to them that we don’t have any outside drinks because you requested us to throw them away or drink them, but one of the male security guards would not listen to me. He kept cutting me off and telling them to refuse entry for us and to ignore us because we’re just trying to start a fight. I don’t know what was his problem was, but we were there well before the time they stop letting people in because they were letting everyone else and other than me and my partner. I was just there to have a good time. I definitely think the security needs to be retrain or reevaluated because they were completely disrespectful and rude for no reason.

Time and time again, EGO has disappointed. Providence deserves better. Last night was particularly bad. The DJ wanted $20 per song request!

Been coming here since I was 18 I literally work right next door and last night the older bouncer man told me and my partner that we couldn’t go in cause we didn’t look gay enough which I found absolutely ridiculous and inappropriate. This is supposed to be a safe space and instead you have older men asking people to prove their “gayness” horrendous.
