Found this gem on Instagram after driving's 2 hours from Mass to go the Area Lounge two Sundays ago. Where we weren’t even offered a drink after be seated for 40 minutes. Fast forward we get to Gee’s and it was pretty busy but they had room for us. The wait was reasonable considering this food is made to order (taste real good too) and can’t be prepared in minutes. My husband and I ordered the catfish, greens, mac n cheese, and yams! Took home those chicken and waffles!? babeee, we came back this past Sunday with family(14 of us). We celebrated my husband’s birthday with some AMAZING FOOD! Jennifer was great at hosting us and the kitchen has hands from heaven. All the food in both visits was fresh, properly cooked and seasoned. The restaurant was clean and beautiful and we all enjoyed ourselves. With food to go. Thank you GeeGee’s for your hospitality and talents in the kitchen. Trust we will be back!!!-your new Massachusetts family

The food is really good idk why they’re 3.6 stars. people will complain about any little thing knowing damn well the food is good . I had for the first time yesterday the Mac was really good the yams was really good , it had the Perfect about of sweetness. The portion of food is fine to me, I got a large. And the place is done up really nice and it’s clean. I will be going back today for seconds ? and the Mac wasn’t left over it was fresh, a little of golden brown on top as well. The Mac noodles wasn’t overcooked it was perfect. I’m not a big fan of sausages and the jag rice has it just in case no one knows before ordering but the rice is still good.?

I ordered a large fried chicken dinner( one leg and thigh ) with three sides. The fried chicken and macaroni & cheese lack any type of seasoning. The collard greens had plenty of smoked meat in it with a strong vinegar after taste. The potato salad was okay. With it being February and Black History month I truly believe in supporting black owned businesses. I wasn't satisfy but I'll give Gee's another try.

Didn't dine there because they arbitrarily stopped honoring the Groupon that is STILL available to purchase. I'll never eat there because of how casually they inconvenienced and robbed me of my money.

So I went in at noon hoping my food would be fresh, nope ??♀️ wrong. Not only was the collard greens crunchy (uncooked) & way to spicy but my pork chops were burnt but the mac& cheese was def had a taste of stateless. Like I didnt need a fork. Yes I didnt need a fork to much cheese with no flavor cause once the cheese got a like cold I could use my hands I could literally pick up w/my fingers the only thing that tasted good was the cornbread, even though u could def tell it was made some time last week. I should have read the reviews before I went that way I could have saved my money &went somewhere else. Never again hell my white friends could have done better. Never again that's 4 sure. Don't waste your time or money. And yes the music on the TV was inappropriate. Y does it seem like nobody these days has any respect for there business ? nobody takes pride in their work SMH all day.

The food was dry, ingredients were missing, burnt, and cold. Walked in and not a single employee greeted us. paid $43 for food that we could’ve made at home. Don’t waist your time or money here. Better off going to Popeyes.

Visited recently with 6 friends. Enjoyed everything. Unlimited iced tea that they didn't charge us for, along with unlimited mango something juice that they didn't charge us for. There are no words that will adequately describe how delicious the macaroni and cheese. Six people bill was $157 not bad at all. Manager-Owner came out personally met us she took out order. She gave us a little history about the place, and she took really good care of us. We inquired so much about the sides that she just brought us a tray of all the sides that they offer; giving us an opportunity to taste before we decided what sides we would choose. Plenty of parking and comfortable seating inside. We visit Providence every October, will definitely be back October 2024.

I ordered a catfish dinner 9/29 and this is not my first time ordering catfish & this issue happening. The fish is not catfish whatsoever and it’s very disappointing that they pass it off as catfish thinking we won’t know the difference. Catfish has a fatty aspect to it which gives it the distinct taste. The fish they serve is completely lean & a bit dry probably swai fish. They probably do this to keep cost down but please be honest. I’ve considered ordering it & having it tested in a food lab because i don’t understand the lies. Also, the yam were extremely dark in color & tasted like dates & not candied yams. The only thing i enjoyed were the greens. Geegees needs to lower prices if food is going to be sub par. I write this review after patronizing several times & not making a quick judgement.Edit: I’m not assuming anything i know you’re either selling basa or striper which one (basa) legally can’t be called or label catfish in the United States and the other is a hybrid catfish which again isn’t authentic & both of Vietnam origin. Don’t worry i will have the fish tested in a lab then have WPRI report on it. You could’ve been gracious about it but instead continue to act like the consumer is wrong but soon enough you will see the outcome.
