Phenomenal pork chop tenderloin, full stop! Don't mess around, someone at the table should get this dish. We had the scallops and the sea Bass as well, the pork chop is a level above these dishes.
Smoky char, tender, juicy, and you must dip in the sauce on the plate to get the full experience. This is a must have entree at The New Rivers restaurant.
Baked Alaska was good and we enjoyed the Corn cake with corn ice cream.

We walked in and immediately loved this place -- the host, server, and busser we're all fantastic, and both the roast half chicken and burger were excellent, as was the profiterole. Just a delight to be here -- thank you!

Food was ok but nothing special. Place was very loud you couldn’t even have a conversation. The service was great but couldn’t wait to leave due to the noise volume. Not a place that I would come back to.

New Rivers is an absolute gem in Providence, and it never fails to impress. We recently visited on a weeknight (with reservations, of course) and were once again delighted by the experience.
The seasonal menu, which changes nightly based on what’s freshly and locally available, is a true highlight. On this visit, we enjoyed the quail and steak—both perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The wine list is equally impressive, offering thoughtful selections that pair beautifully with the food.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. One of the best parts? It’s reasonably priced compared to some of the more pretentious downtown restaurants offering similar concepts, making it an approachable yet special place to dine.
I’ve been coming here for years to celebrate special occasions, and it continues to deliver every time. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Really appreciate the restaurant accommodating me when I did not have a reservation.
The raw oysters were tastefully presented - with a stellar mignonette and cocktail sauce with fresh shaved horseradish. Is it rude to drink mignonette after finishing oysters? If so, New Rivers might tempt me to be rude.
The cornmeal fried squid - amazing. Crispy, chewy and not overpowering. Fried basil and radish were the perfect accompaniments.
My server advised me that I could order a single roll and I appreciated that non menu option. As a solo diner - I appreciate getting to try more of the menu.
Smoked duck tart was incredible. The pastry was perfect - but I thought the salad on the side was odd. Entire leaves of lettuce were hard to eat. The freshness helped but maybe a different presentation might be better.
I ordered the lemon curd tart and while good, it was the low point of the meal. The pastry was not as good as the earlier tart and the flavor seemed muted. I’d order something else.
Overall, great meal, well worth a special visit

We have dined at New Rivers many times and have typically found our experiences there to be very good. Recently, we had a dinner party of 6 with their new winter menu and were very disappointed. Two of us had the winter seafood stew...when the dish arrived we thought there was a mistake as it literally had 1 fried oyster, 1 calamari ring, a smoked mussel, a single scallop, a strip of bacon and 1/2 roasted potato in a light cream sauce. This was not a stew...while we are aligned with smaller portions this was off the charts and should have been an appetizer at best. We brought it to the attention of our server who said she would inform the kitchen...a few minutes later the hostess arrived and we provided our feedback on the extremely small portion as this was a new item. She came back in 5 minutes with a small plate of calamari rings for the two of us who ordered the winter seafood stew to share...an inadequate token response at best for an establishment like New Rivers. The kitchen and management response needs adjustment and a better response for customers when they are trying new dishes on the menu-they can and should do better

Full disclosure, we just got an order of fries to much on while we had some cocktails. The drinks were excellent, and the bartender was super friendly. I highly recommend stopping by. I definitely want to go back for a proper meal.
