Great experience all round. Tapas style dining. Since the portions are very small be prepared to order double of the same plate for parties more than 2.

Good food does not entitle a restaurant to treat guests poorly.

The manager, Kevin, changed our reservation multiple times, limited us to the to go menu and cut me off multiple times in conversation, leading to misunderstanding and quite a loud argument in front of other guests.

Just generally a rude staff. I was embarrassed and left with my family, having planned weeks in advance and driven from over an hour away, this was a very sad and disappointing experience for myself and my family.

All people deserve to eat with dignity and not suffer public humiliation at the hands of someone having a bad day.

Never again.

We enjoyed our experience here! I really liked the dim & cozy atmosphere. Had to wait awhile for waitress despite reservation but once she arrived was very kind & attentive for the entirety of our experience. Portions small but delicious & satisfying. I had pumpkin gnocchi, I wish sage flavor was more noticeable but it was very good. Great bread, & dessert too. My husband loved his cocktail as well. Will def be back!

Best fine dining in providence for special occasions. Loved the chefs menu with wine pairings. Special but not snooty. A local gem.

We went here for an anniversary, and the staff, food and atmosphere were all absolutely amazing. The Salmon Tartare that we had was mind blowingly delicious, and the drinks were excellent as well!

Having good food is no reason to treat people poorly. Even Michelin star restaurants invest in respecting guests. I’m not sure why that was not the case for us, but we left and i’m sad that my daughter had to witness such intentional lack of courtesy, bordering the line of contempt, that I would be surprised to see from a stranger.. still shocked. Just didn’t expect this from (what people say is) a well-rated establishment. I’m not sure where the contempt originated, perhaps staff wanted to go home.. perhaps I could have phrased our dining request in a different way, or made my menu request sooner, but in all cases dining should be a pleasant and welcome experience for all. We are the same, chefs, staff, guests, there are no opposing sides to dining, or there shouldn’t be.. Food is for everyone, let’s enjoy it together! While we had a bad experience, I do hope that others do not experience the same (hence the reason for posting this unfortunate event) and sincerely advocate for Persimmon management to consider a slight change in their correspondence; perhaps moving away from public shaming and towards a more professional, accepting, or even friendly approach. I think this atmosphere, in addition to your talented back of house would serve your business well in the future. Thank you for seating us at least, we cannot return but again wish the best for your future patrons.

The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We made a reservation for 9:30pm Saturday evening. The restaurant changed our reservation 3 times on Saturday. The final time, we told them we were driving from over an hour away and might be a little late. They said no problem. We arrived at 9:10pm and were told they wouldn't serve us the tasting menu (the whole reason we chose Persimmon.) The manager (Kevin) is one of the rudest individuals I've ever dealt with. He repeatedly cut me off, wouldn't allow me to finish a sentence and eventually just said "It is what it is" before walking off in a huff. I've never been treated so poorly.

The food here is second to none. The service is excellent. Had the chefs 5 course tasting with the wine pairing and every dish and every glass was delicious. Sat at the chefs station and they were very friendly and took great attention to detail for every plate that went out. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Special. The only restaurant in the state that would get Michelin stars if they came here. Exceptional service is combined with an innovative menu and thoughtful wine list. The duck neck confit is a highlight, demonstrating the chef's mastery of technique, ingredient, and flavor. There isn't enough positive praise I can give Persimmon. They are incomparable.

After tonights experience, I'm literally scratching my head, wondering why we hadn't dined at Persimmon until now. Well, whatever the reason, I'm sure glad we finally made it in!
It's no easy task to execute at a consistently excellent level and make it look effortless, but that's what's happening here.
Chefs cool, confident orchestration at the pass demonstrates his years of success at this game.
Every dish was on point, the standout being the foie and duck neck with orchard fruits. But everything was really just so tasty and presented well.
The view from the bar looking into the kitchen was a real treat. Dinner and a show!
Don't wait as long as I did! Make a point to put Persimmon on your short list.
You will not be disappointed.

Food was very good, but not amazing. The steak reminded me heavily of a standard wedding entree. Spaghetti was great, but the bolgonese was very salty and made with too much pork. Chicken was very good as well as the accompanying veg.
