The venue is gorgeous!! The restaurant was built in 1917, as a hotel. The woodwork in the bar is stunning!! Not only will you be surrounded by a gorgeous atmosphere, the food is excellent!! This restaurant never disappoints!!

We went there to celebrate our anniversary. Waiter was good. He recommended the 2 veal chop specials; Parmesan and Milanese. We each ordered one. They were okay-nothing great. Sauce wasn't great and dressing on Milanese was mediocre at best. The Parmesan came with about a cup of rigatoni. Not much sauce at all. The Milanese had arugula, cherry tomatoes, onions and shaved Parmesan. Could not believe each entree was $50! We eat out all over and at some great restaurants-most we have ever paid for veal was $27-$35 and was much better veal. We also ordered scallops wrapped in bacon as an appetizer. The scallops were tiny and very fishy smelling. The best part of our meal was the martinis! 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 4 martinis came to $210! Absolutely ridiculous! I realize our mistake was not to ask how much the meals were and learned a lesson. Honestly, would have been okay if the meals were “to die for” but paying that much for just okay food really wasn't worth it. Extremely disappointing to say the least.
I ordered the special dish which is called cajun halibut and it is delicious, good service and big portion for what you paid. The restaurant is nice inside and has music the day I was there.

It was our first visit to the George and it was amazing! Our server Eddie was awesome, the food was delicious and we'll definitely be back.
Service and staff was excellent. The appetizer was great as were our entrees. (Sirloin tips and braised short ribs) The drinks were also very yummy although on the expensive side Only thing we were disappointed with was the dessert, tiramisu was ok the strawberry tres leches was not good at all.
I ordered from the Providence restaurant week menu; the swordfish was delicious! Eddie is a great waiter!
Our server Ed was great. The steak was perfect, the drinks were very good and the dessert was the ideal ending.
Great food and service. Plenty of great atmosphere.

The George Restaurant: Convenient, consistent food quality & presentation. Went there for a business meeting - 1 hour in the bar and then dinner in the dinning area. On a Wednesday evening. Perfect place for a business meeting due to not to loud. Excellent bar service and the food was very good.
The George is our go to after a show at Providence Performing Arts Center. Even with a busy Father's Day, the food and service lived up to their normal outstanding results. We absolutely love Eddie as our usual waiter - always friendly, efficient and know the menu inside and out. We will be back again and again!
