“We just had the most amazing pastry from Sweet Rose—made with zucchini, of all things! I’ve never had zucchini taste this good (sorry, Mom!). Light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—not too sweet, just right. Huge compliments to the bakers for turning a humble veggie into something so delicious. This was easily one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend this bakery. We’ll definitely be back soon!“

“We just enjoyed a late lunch that was absolutely delicious! The lobster bisque was a great starter but the lobster Mac and cheese was the BEST we’ve ever had. Giant chunks of lobster were buried amongst the creamy noodles. We shared the lobster dish and it was plenty. \nThe fresh cod/ Fish-n-chips was also excellent, flaky light white fish. We waited 45 mins for our table, while sipping hot spiced cider - the food was well worth the wait.“

“I had a birthday celebration at this restaurant. We sat near the cozy fireplace on a chilly night. The cheeseboard (varied cheeses, focaccia bread, honey, blackberries, nuts, jam, greens) and Pt. Judith calamari were beautifully presented. Excellent bottle of Pinot Grigio from Tuscany, Italy added to food, Staff was very accomodating. I enjoyed mussels, scallops, little necks over pasta in scampi sauce. Others had the salmon as well as the bolognese. It's a very roomy, quiet setting near the water. Staff came out to sing happy birthday with a luscious ice cream dessert with a candle on top. I was pleasantly surprised. We will return to this place for sure!“

“If you’re coming to visit Newport and haven’t heard of Jo’s, it’s because it’s a hidden gem! Amazing local farm-to-table options that keep us and those who visit us asking to go back to that one place in Newport, I really loved! The service to guests with one or more allergies was superb! The chef personally came to our table on each visit to discuss what meals were safe to order. I have multiple allergies, so sometimes they would have made me my own off-the-menu special dish. I’ve never gotten sick once, and everyone who goes there with us when they visit always asks to go back on their next trip! ♥️“

“Lauren was an absolute joy to work with and incredibly talented. From our tasting, we knew we were in good hands: the cake and desserts were amazing, and she made the entire process fun and easy. She took the time to understand what we were looking for and delivered something that exceeded every expectation we had.

Our cake and dessert table were a huge hit with our guests, and we received so many compliments throughout the night. Every dessert was delicious, beautifully presented, and disappeared quickly. Most importantly, our wedding cake was honestly one of the best cakes we've ever had, if not the best. It was absolutely incredible. Lauren's talent, attention to detail, and ability to create desserts that are both beautiful and delicious are truly unmatched. We could not recommend her more highly.“

“Overall very good food, chefs are great. Summer hires are rude and impatient however. So just “for future reference”: The line gets crowded quickly, small place. To avoid the staff becoming frustrated with you, make sure to: 1) Pick your menu items quickly and 2) pick drinks quickly, and if they are from fridge take drinks with you to final register If you do not do this, you may be called out in public by folks at register, and it can be a little embarrassing. Check menu online and know what you want before you go and you should have a good experience!“

Not the usual half fat nonsense that so many places give, this was the real deal! House made GF bread - incredible. Eggs - wonderful. Coffee - great. French toast and VT syrup - great. “The Power of Juice is an incredible place. They have many magical juices that can make you feel better instantly. They have essential oils that help with sinuses and also have a magical soda water that can help with headaches/migraines and much much more!The staff at Power of Juice is incredible, I have been in a few times now not feeling well at all and each staff member always took the time to recommend something to help with how I was feeling and I never felt rushed, one of which days was Christmas Eve the store was slammed and the staff member didn’t let that get in the way from taking me over to show me a new essential oil they just got in to help with my massive sinus headache. Power of juice is now my go to place for a pick me up juice or if I need something for when I’m not feeling well, I now try this before taking over the counter medicine.“

“We had an outstanding experience here on Easter Sunday. From start to finish, everything was excellent—both the food and the service were truly top tier. Our waitress was engaging, personable, and even took the time to share some Rhode Island folklore with us, which made the evening feel extra special. We’re visiting from Long Island and touring URI, and this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. The cod and sole were beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We also loved the espresso martini crème brûlée and cappuccino—such a perfect way to end the meal. Would absolutely return and highly recommend.“

Gas Lamp Grille truly stands out in this regard, making it easy to enjoy a great meal even later in the evening. We’ve visited multiple times and consistently have a great experience. Seating is always quick, and the service is prompt, friendly, and attentive. The lobster rolls—both chilled and hot—are excellent every time. We also appreciate the option to choose between traditional fries, sweet potato fries, or a salad, allowing for a bit of flexibility while still enjoying a favorite dish. Whether the restaurant is busy during a UConn game or more relaxed on a quieter evening, the staff remains efficient and welcoming. It has become one of our go-to spots whenever we’re in Newport.“

“Their award winning New England clam chowder made it to the shelves of Publix groceries in Florence Alabama. If Publix sells it, its good. Its the best it gets. Blount's clam chowder is the best I've ever tasted. Keep making it and hopefully Publix will continue to keep it in stock. I want more.“
