We are members and have eaten here frequently. For lunch, it’s pretty good. For dinner, mediocre. The selections are fairly priced but basic.

Backwater Bill's is consistently excellent. It's impossible to make a bad decision, but my favorites are the crab soup, wedge salad, and prime burger or black and blue chicken sandwich. Chef Andy is one of Hampton Lake's many treasures. The special theme nights are always fantastic, and he is always out on the floor, just to make sure it is. Excellent food, service, and prices.

Was lucky enough to be staying with someone who lives in the community. What a fun place. Staff was incredible, patrons were very friendly. Talk about a great community amenity. Wide variety of drinks and food. Try the Argy Bargy martini, you won't be disappointed.

Well we got kicked out after ordering because we were not MEMBERS! This is not a restaurant it is a PRIVATE CLUB. It is located in a neighborhood but nowhere did I see a sign noting that it was not open to the public and business hours were listed on Google maps and posted on the door. I thought their response to my honest mistake was uncalled for.
My mom lives at Hampton Lake and we always make sure we have at least one meal here while visiting. The food and the service has always been excellent. My biggest issue and the reason for 4 stars is Backwater Bill’s hours. They’re hardly open, very strange hours and I don’t know why. We would eat there more often if they had typical restaurant hours. Recently ate at the pool bar with my mom and daughter. So relaxing and beautiful water views. We all had salads and they were great! Large and very tasty. We also each had a Miami Vice which was delicious, but you couldn’t tell that there was any alcohol in them at all.
