William has he General manager did make it a point to great me. Though I felt very rushed to get out. One young lady greeted me and smiled. Others were looking as if I was out of place. Didn’t get the coffee I paid for. I stood the whole time. Not inviting. Will go back to give them another try on service.

I went to the Plantation Cafe’ in Bluffton S.C. with a friend. My bill was $8.52 including tax. I paid with cash, giving the waitress a $20.00 bill. She returned $11.00 in change. So I mentioned she made a mistake, that the change should have been $11.48. Her reply, well, shocked me.
The waitress said they do not give coinage change. She directed me to the manager/owner and his explanation shocked me even more. He said when the bill is PAID IN CASH they ROUND UP the bill amount to the NEXT DOLLAR AMOUNT. His, the manager/owner, reasoning was the Plantation Cafe’ believed this is helpful to the customer who may not want to fumble with the change or have it jingling in their pocket. Actual response! He said this was helping the customer by keeping their change. Actual response!
I was stunned. I asked why he, the manager/owner, gets to make the decision for the customer to keep their money/change. He said this was the policy of the Plantation Cafe’ to ROUND UP TO THE BILL TO THE NEXT DOLLAR AMOUNT and it will not change. That they will not give coinage change when the bill is paid in cash. When our exchange ended I asked the manager/owner why he hadn’t asked or taken the initiative during our exchange to offer me my coinage change from the bill? His response was, “Well, do you want your change?”
The Plantation Cafe’ will keep your money above and beyond what your actual bill total is when you pay in cash. The manager/owner seemed unfazed by how ludicrous his reasoning was. Nor, he said, did he think this policy was wrong and, well, actual theft from the customer. I have to wonder if the Plantation Cafe’ claims this non-earned revenue on their taxes as income. CHEAT THE CUSTOMER, CHEAT THE IRS. Seems like a small next step.
For the food review read the other negative reviews. Then make your own judgement if this is an establishment you want to frequent.

I dont know what happened here but the wheels came off the last two weeks. Went last week and we just thought they were having an off day. Went this morning, dirty table, dirty silver ware, waited 10 minutes while staff chatted at the kitchen window, food was marginal and one order was wrong….weird.

Outrageously expensive. My husband and I went in for a quick bite. We both ordered the same thing (an iced tea and tuna sandwich on a croissant with lettuce, tomato and cheese). Bill came and it was $50, without the tip. They changed extra for everything on our sandwich. Waitress never even mentioned that we would be upcharged for our croissant, lettuce, tomato and cheese and they were not small upcharges either. Will never go back due to being completely ripped off.

Menu is solid but ingredients and food is really poor. Service is understaffed and seem uninterested. The restaurant had a funky smell and we had to wait for a table, not because they were busy but because every empty table was dirty and still had dishes on them. What a waste of a great location. Hopefully a better restaurant comes here next because I can’t imagine they will last much longer like this.

Absolutely horrible! I went this morning after church. I sat at counter which was FULL of dirty dishes and food. 12 employees walked by it and never blinked. Finally after 10 minutes a waitress gave me a menu. Still dirty dishes there. Waitress brought me coffee and just mushed plates together still not removed. Counter was filthy. I got up and grabbed a rag and proceeded to wipe my spot in front of me. I ordered, my food was horrible, 2 sausage patties were size of quarters, cold and crumbled apart like sawdust!!! Meanwhile the whole 25 minutes i was there 2 employees stood leaning on counter next to me chatting it up with female patron who clearly was gf or friend. No manager in sight. Don't bother wasting time or money, could of got better service and breakfast at McDonald's right next door.
Didn't like biscuits and gravy. Nice place

This used to be a good place to have breakfast, the last time I visited it was in April, and I was delighted with the cleanliness and the good service from the waitress, today I decided to take my daughters to have breakfast at the place to enjoy a pleasant moment, however what was my surprise (and that of my girls) when upon entering the establishment the two women who were serving saw us as if we were going to ask for free food, this really made me feel very bad, I let it go, Thinking it was my imagination, when we tried to sit down the chair was dirty with food and I asked for a napkin to clean it. We ordered the drinks and they brought them incorrect ones. The table was dirty and sticky with syrup from the pancakes and I asked the waitress if she could please. Please lend me something to clean it and with all the nerve in the world he gave me a very dirty cloth so I could DO ITS JOB! I paid for the drinks and left the place, I have reviewed the opinions of this place too late, (there are several dissatisfied customers ☝️) I will definitely NOT RETURN AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE PLACE
Unfortunately there is no ZERO star option because I would surely use it
Franky Bones gained new clients thanks to his HORRIBLE ATTENTION!!!!

Foods always decent. But watching your food sit under the heat lamp while 5 staff stand around not wanting to run it — including a manager is disappointing. But what’s even worse is watching a cook put a chip in his mouth and it fall out down onto the service area — then instead of stopping eating, pour a bowl of chips for one of the servers to eat right there too. ??

The half&half and coffee tasted like drinkkng chemicals. If you want to do better, use cream, people. The hash browns were cold and orange. One tiny bite was ?. Not my thing. My omelette - (bacon mushroom Swiss cheese) was pretty good, just hoping they didn’t use flour or pancake batter to make it fluffy. Definitely not coming back, very disappointing. Our waitress was super nice.
