Update to below review: We continue to enjoy this Tio's. I especially like going during happy hour! I can make a dinner from the HH menu, while my husband always orders from the regular menu. No slow drink service these days, either! Being on a new medical diet of chicken and fish only, I am having to adjust my pallet and what I order. My husband has learned to order his quesadilla with extra cheese, but even when he forgets they seem to have plenty.
Original post: Best salsa around. Food was tasty. Poblano with pork was great, could have used more cheese or queso but it was really good. Husbands steak quesadilla was great but super skimpy on cheese. The flavors were great. Slow to take first drink order and even slower to get them. Not that many people in the restaurant at 1:30 on Saturday so it was a little odd to have this circumstance. Suuuper slow to come back for second drink order. Then the crowd came in. Once chips and salsa came we were set to wait with no problems! Food came fast! We had a good time and we'll go back. Our waitress was really pleasant, and ended up with quite a few tables in the bar which she was handling well. We were the only bar table when we arrived. Full by the time we left. All in all, no real complaints. Just information...

Always a treat. Eileen is the best waitress 🩷
This is the most bland Mexican food I’ve ever had. No salsa with chips. Kids corn dog was cold twice. The burrito came out wrong 3 times. Music was horrid. Avoid this place like the plague.

Nothing was wrong about this place but nothing was great, either.
The service was slow, but not horrible. You don’t get chips and salsa unless you pay for them. The burrito was bland without much taste (but the steak was tender).
I thought it was kind of pricy considering what I got.

My number one pet peeve when I go into an Exxon restaurant is if the guacamole is not fresh and made from fresh avocados.
This restaurant had probably the best tasting guacamole that I’ve had in a long time from any restaurant in the Midwest and East Coast! Fresh and tasty abd not too much salt.
I loved the flavor of the black beans they added a little pepper to it which gave it a fabulous but not too spicy taste. The rice was a white rice not tomato based. But had very good moist flavor and spice to it.
They were out tamales which I didn’t like but that’s how restaurants are sometimes.
Food came out faster than I could eat my appetizer and that was good because I was hungry and on FaceTime with my significant other.

One of the worse dining experiences ever. Will not go back. No one inside knew what they were doing. Hostess was cleaning off tables instead of greeting customers. At one point 12 of us were cramped in the front all looking at each other asking where is the hostess? Massively understaffed. Never saw any sort of manager. Once seated, we Waited nearly 10 min for our waitress to come over to greet us & take our drink order. Three other couples that sat down after us were greeted before us. Then the waitress proceeded to get us stale chips. Stale! Our food arrived with us never getting any silverware. Music Bingo on a Sat night at prime time? What a horrible idea. On second thought, your waitstaff is so bad, maybe that’s why? To top it all off, I think it was about 89 degrees inside. I’ve never sweat & ate before indoors. Please…Fire everyone & start all over! It was that bad. Would not recommend to anyone. Awful!

Bright, beautiful restaurant with a bar and delicious, fresh food. Love their carnitas and very few places have platanos around here. Margaritas and delicious. We drive from Beaufort for this food.
