“The food was very good and definitely the highlight of the visit. The service was excellent; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome at all times. The atmosphere is calm and allows for easy conversation, especially if you are not very demanding. However, the first impression could be improved, as the place looks somewhat old and would benefit from renovation. Considering how popular this location is and the beautiful view of the lake, investing in the facilities would greatly enhance the overall experience. One important detail to keep in mind is that they only accept cash or checks, so it is best to come prepared. Overall, it is a good place with strong potential to be even better.“

“First time here and it was amazing. Got there early to eat at the bar and was impressed with the Samsung phone chargers at each stool. Then the food and drinks were phenomenal! So cool to be able to watch the food being prepared from my seat! 10/10 for food and experience! kudos!!!“

“My favorite place! This restaurant has amazing food, the kindest employees, beautiful decor, and the menu is super clean. My family is vegan and we had plenty of options (gasp!) and my parents aren’t vegan and they had plenty of options also! Their teas are amazing, you can ask for no sugar added, which is a huge plus. And they have a dressing that is gluten free- the sweet gotchu- and it’s loaded with flavor. I cannot recommend this place enough.“

“Definitely some of the best Mexican food around this area. Service is always great as well. The only reason Atmosphere didn't get 5 stars is that I always seem to get a booth where the person behind moves my bench all over the restaurant. Please secure the seats to something!“

“The food was good, but the wait was slightly long, and the atmosphere was loud with a lot of profanity. The cashier mistakenly took my order, but she was very friendly and apologized. She also called the owner to address the issue. Overall, the situation was managed very professionally. I plan to return.“

“One of Spartanburg's best! Been coming here for years. In fact, where did my wife (who is originally from Greenwood SC) want to go to dinner on our anniversary? Gotta marry a woman who'll choose The Beacon over a snooty five-star restaurant any day! Recommendations: everything but my go-tos or either the double chili-cheese with bacon or slice heavy on the red with a tea of course!“

“We went into Nixtamal in Boiling Springs for drinks and dinner. We had the table side guacamole, which was amazing, Margaritas and I had the ACP for dinner. Our server Cole was very attentive and did an excellent job. We will definitely be back.“
