Cutest eatery in Avondale. Amazing wine selection and best charcuterie by far. Went on. Friday early evening. Staff were fun and shared all of the Women's' Month specials. I enjoyed the wine flight from all female owned wineries. My spouse enjoyed multiple tastings of cabs. We each brought a bottle home. The cheeses are davine - whipped feta is our favorite. Recommend going early as fills quickly.

They have some great fun themes for wine tasting each month. I just went to the Girl Scout cookie and wine tasting for $25 and they did a great job of pairing the wines with the Girl Scout cookies. The atmosphere is very cute and quaint with an outdoor patio.

We travel to Charleston once a year and this wine bar is a must for us every time we go, not only is the place extremely cozy but the service is extrodinary. The woman who work there, Simone, Mia,Katie, and Erica make it such a wonderful experience. It wouldnt be the same without them.If you looking for a cozy reasonably priced delicious wine bar this is your place!

This company tries to hire people by asking them to come in for free and donate their time for free to see if theyre capable of working without explaining their process.Keep in mind, this restaurant has minimal food being served compared to other restaurants in the area and is the most unexpected place to be acting this way toward future employees with ample cooking experience.Theyre looking for people to cut cheese and meat and place it on a wooden board and they call it "art". When someone submits a resume of various restaurants with 100s of things on the menu, its a complete insult that they wouldnt respond within 24 hours about concerns from prospective employees about why they require free "staging" efforts and are left in the dark about how things work.Upon being direct with them that their response time is unacceptable, they responded within minutes telling me the deal is off, which is funny because I was the one that said the deal was off, and yet they came out of the woodwork to respond once I became frustrated at their lack of response time. This is just a small insight into how this restaurant does business. You can always assume there is more behind the scenes going on when one negative experience has been had. If they cant respond to their own future employees in a reasonable period of time with relevant information, you can only imagine how little they value the hiring process of trained professionals that have an expectation of basic communication.Best of luck hiring an employee who doesnt need actual information in a timely fashion and will just desperately take your position. In 8 years of working as a cook thats trained with chefs in NY, CO, CA and SC, this has been the most unprofessional experience Ive ever had trying to get hired somewhere and wouldnt even recommend eating/drinking here based on the unprofesasional attitude they have in the hiring process towards the people that are asking basic information that is only used to serve the company. If they cant give that, thats a no-go for any reasonable customer/prospective employee.

I always really enjoy this place. The wine selection and quality of the charcuterie boards are always great. I am very disappointed with a new trend that this establishment is following where they pass on the credit card processing fee to the customers . I had a business, and just accepted the fact that part of the merchant fee for processing credit cards was part of "MY"overhead. Many times customers are already paying an annual fee to use their credit cards and now they are having to cover the fee the merchant passed on to them as well. I find this very distasteful. My bill came to about $90 and I did not have that much cash in my wallet at that time. I feel that as a customer.I should not have to pay to use my credit card with the credit card company and then also absorb the establishments merchant credit card fee. I know this is becoming common practice, but as I said, I don't appreciate it.

This is the best spot for locals to get great cheese selections + an incredible wine list - all at an affordable price. The service is top notch and they have intimate indoor seating + a covered outdoor patio. This is our favorite Friday night spot for a low-key ambiance with high-quality experience. Can't recommend this place enough.

One of my favorite spots for happy hour in West Ashley. Great selection of wine, charcuterie, and tapas. They even offer gluten free bread with charcuterie plates.

Avondale wine and cheese is one of my go to spots since I can here years ago. I love the huge selection of cheese, meats and wines they have. The baked Brie with nuts is one one of my favorite a La Carte items! Carolina sunset is my absolute favorite cheese on the menu. It's so good. The not only have soft cheeses but a good selection of soft, semi hard and hard! So there's definitely something for everyone. The staff is always so nice and are always willing to help with questions or just bring us so much bread. (We tend to ask for a lot XD)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Avondale Wine & Cheese in Charleston, and it was an experience that left me utterly delighted. Though street parking can be a bit tricky during certain times of the day, don't let that deter you, as there's ample parking available in the charming neighborhood. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the modern chic ambiance of the wine bar. The attention to detail was simply incredible! The creative use of old wine casks for tables, wine barrels as decorations, and the tabletops made from wine boxes added a unique and rustic charm to the place. The walls were adorned with fascinating art, whatnots, and books that truly made my eyes wander in awe. I couldn't help but be fascinated by the antique ceiling fan in the front, powered by a pulley system—such a delightful nod to the past. What impressed me even more was the integration of the historic building's architectural aspects. The sight of the red brick columns added a touch of grandeur and reminded me of the rich history of the place. The restaurant is thoughtfully divided into three different spaces—a bar area in the middle, a library area, and the main dining room, which was adorned with adorable little grottos. These intimate spaces provided the perfect setting for private conversations, making it an ideal spot for a cozy gathering with friends or a romantic evening. The liveliness and friendliness of the place were infectious, and the knowledgeable staff made the experience even more enjoyable. They were eager to recommend wine pairings and help us navigate the menu, making us feel right at home. The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the charcuterie board we ordered. The selection of meats and cheeses was absolutely wonderful! I must say, the bacon jam and brie combination was divine, leaving our taste buds craving for more. However, the real star of the show was the local smoked honey, which paired exquisitely with the cheese and meat spread—it was a flavor explosion that delighted my senses.Overall, my visit to Avondale Wine & Cheese was a memorable and enjoyable one. The charming atmosphere, the rich historical elements, and the delicious offerings made it a delightful experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and inviting spot to enjoy excellent wine, delectable charcuterie, and a wonderful evening in the heart of Charleston.Parking: Can be challenging but there is plenty of parking in the neighborhood
