Atmosphere was OK, but very dark. Also, there's an old timber the runs along the floor that is easy to trip on and makes sitting at some of the tables tricky, even if you are sober.

Before we got in the door a lady said we are at capacity. Note seats open all over. We said ok but went inside it was freezing. My husband went to get the car so we could leave. I stood beside the door texting about a review of another place and the lady come at me asking me what I said. I said: I was not taking to you. She said you are going to have to leave in a very mean way. I said why. She said because you are problem! I said how? Took my phone out to record her because she was being aggressive about it. She said I am going to call the cops. I said why I am just waiting on my husband to get the car. She said, YOU see all these people outside, I said yes, and I am leaving in a minuet myself what do they have to do with me. Then she opened the door and while standing in the warm was making all the people outside give her their ID? I then left because I husband came but I have never experienced such a rude vial service before in my life. She was mean, angry, and for no reason. Probably thought I was taking about giving them a review but that is not excuse she has no business in the service industry, this was at night one December 21st. I am posting this on social media because no one should be treated and threatened the way this mean person did to me.

Bar Mash has always been a good time, however, the food was miserable. The pasta had no sauce and no flavor, the charcuterie board for the Halloween themed menu was $22 and filled up maybe 1/4 of the board with almost nothing of substance. Just sad about how poor the food was because the decor and atmosphere was really nice. We went to a different restaurant because we were starving and spent so much money on honestly nothing.

We stopped in for their Monster Mash bar theme and I don’t think it could’ve been any more fitting as the food tasted as though something dead was in it. We ordered their meatballs, hush puppies, boo-lognese, and burger. They told us they were out of meatballs, only after they charged our card so we asked to sub for spinach and artichoke dip — never got it. The hush puppies had the least amount of flavor of anything I’ve ever eaten, and the bolognese tasted as though they found road kill on the side of the road, char-broiled it, and then crumbled it into the pasta. Save your money. This roadkill wasn’t cheap, and it wasn’t even busy when we went.

I'm conflicted. Place is cool, bartenders are cool, but they are inconsistent. If you order the same Bar mash cocktail from a different bartender that you just had from the other one, it's totally different. The lady bartender I had clearly followed recipes as they were intended and I appreciated it. The male bartender was nice but he takes too many liberties trying to fancy up the drinks he makes when there are standard recipes. Examples - their Leisure Spritz when made by the lady is sparkling and in a wine glass over ice - as a spritz should be. When you get one from the male, it's shaken and strained straight up into a coupe glass, is flat, and overly sweet.
When you ask for an Aperol spritz, the lady does it as God intended - Aperol, sparkling wine, splash of soda. When the male makes it, he adds extra things - I assume citrus juice of some sort and some kind of sweetener maybe. It was overly sweet, not recognizable as an Aperol spritz, and barely tolerable to drink.
My guy, you're cool, but please don't try to be extra fancy and show off your skills or make drinks how you like them, make them as intended unless asked otherwise. If I'm paying $13-14 for a cocktail from the menu I'd like to get that exact cocktail please.

If you're visiting from out of town and you find this place you should consider yourself extremely lucky. They have upwards of 150 whiskeys on the shelves and offer flights to those interested in trying more than one pour. The bar is located in a historical cigar factory from the 1800's that played a roll in the beginning of the civil rights movement. The cocktail list is phenomenal and they curate special menus and decorations for holidays and themes. Live jazz on Monday nights at 930 features the best musicians in town and is the best kept local secret.. free as well.. Monday nights also feature a prime rib dinner that is so affordably priced your jaw will drop.. The star of the show here is the staff - hands down - Jimmy, Abe, Sara etc.. so friendly and knowledgeable.. they're the reason I keep going back.

Updated: spoke with manager regarding incident and they have educated the bartenders on ADA compliance.
Bar mash is not ADA complaint. I entered yesterday with my well trained service dog and the bartender stated to me that pets are not allowed inside. I attempted to explain to him that my service animal is not a pet. He was uninterested in hearing what I had to say and was not open to any conversation. He again repeated that pets are not allowed inside and that I could only sit outside if I wanted to, at which time I decided to leave. He was extremely rude and this encounter was very disappointing. The other bartender heard the encounter and apparently was in agreement. I suggest this business research the Americans with Disabilities act so they understand the law and can better serve future customers with disabilities.

Great cocktails!
We ordered falafel pita plate, shrimp tacos, iced coffee, and cappuccino. Bill was $40. Shrimp tacos quantity was too less for the price and super soggy because of the running liquid. Falafel were undercooked!! Litterly the batter inside was mushy...eykkkk Not recommended. Don't waste your Money:)
