This is our second visit to the Bar Vauté and we aren’t jaded at all. We figured we couldn’t get a table at La Banque without a reservation so we arrived at the blue-hair hour(5:20!) and asked if we could order from the menu downstairs in the wonderful bar. We started with a superior cocktail each- a Boulevardier and a Vieux Carré. We each ordered a NY Strips a la carte with plates of haricots verts and fries to share. The steaks were succulent, well seasoned and perfectly grilled to temp. The sides were delicious and just enough. A glass of Cremant de Bourgogne each and a to-die-for chocolate crème brûlée to top it all off. The service in the bar is great-not stiff or formal, but still attentive. The atmosphere is lively, lots of happy conversations overlapping from the bar and other small tables. The small round tables are first come first serve, set at the base of the stone wall with seating on surprisingly comfy upholstery cubes. It’s dimly lit, cool, and fun. Don’t miss this spot in Charleston.

Speakeasy kind of vibes, located downstairs, intimate quaint little place. Must try the Fleur De Lis cocktail tastes like a refreshing botanical lemonade! Candle lit dark atmosphere, perfect for date night or girls night.

What a great little bar this is! My wife and I stumbled across it on our date night and there was a live band playing. The band was great and the servers were very attentive. We danced for several songs and the band even played a request from me to my wife. We will definitely be back for another night of great drinks and a great time!

Neat little bar in the basement, perfect for two or three person party. Very dark. Difficult to seat a larger party. Drinks were unique, not something I would write home about.

Lizzy, our server, was an absolute delight! The suggestions she made were spot on. Lizzy has the most fun personality! We were so happy and fortunate to have been served by her. It was our anniversary and they had a nice sign at our table as well as a card recognizing us. Also when we walked in they greeted us with the acknowledgement! The food was cooked to perfection! So full of flavor! I would recommend to anyone visiting Charleston or celebrating a special occasion! Top tier!

We arrived towards the end of brunch, but we're greeted with a big smile. The food was enjoyable and delicious. Our waitress was professional, and on top of things we sat at the chefs counter, which is always a fun thing to do. I recommend this restaurant and it's a great location.

Could not speak more highly about our experience! We were celebrating my birthday and they went above and beyond - reaching out in advance to ask for my favorite color and drink. There were balloons and a happy birthday sign on the table when we arrived and a welcome mini cocktail! Everyone who passed wished me a happy birthday. The oysters were fresh and delicious and both of our mains were great!

Lovely location in an old bank in the heart of Charleston. The food was wonderful. Just got back from France and this meal was on par with some of the better meals there. Everything was fresh and cooked with care. Cocktails were interesting and delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive and made the experience as enjoyable as the food. Really can't say enough about how pleasant an evening this was. The price was very reasonable relative to the quality!
