I've eaten here several times over the past 3 years. The food, service and atmosphere are consistently outstanding. If you want a steak in the Charleston area, this is the place to go. Burwell's is always my choice for celebrating my birthday. Public parking available nearby.

Exceptional food and service at the bar and dining room. We dined for a birthday. We received attentive service from Brian. The wagyu filet and ribeye were perfectly cooked. We enjoyed the peach cobbler and tarts as well. We will be back!!

We were pleasantly surprised to have Micheal (now affectionately known as Uncle Mike) as our server! You might recognize him from several other Charleston hot spots. He honestly made our evening—guided us through the menu to set up THE BEST dining experience yet! We will be back for it all: Appetizers: baked oysters & hot rock filet and wagyu duo (a hit with the adults and kids!) Entrees: 8 oz wagyu & lump crab and shrimp pasta Dessert: pluff mud porter chocolate cake & hummingbird cheesecake

Disappointed. I have eaten in several different high end steak houses , Lugers, Smith and Lewinsky, Palm etc. when ordering from a high end establishment I expect them to know how to cook a steak in the customers desire. I ordered med rare and thats not what i got. I was asked if i wanted to return it but didnt want to be that guy. I should have returned it. It was seasoned perfectly but not the right temperature

All of the food was good, to be honest it was my Mom’s favorite, and the service was unanimously good. I unfortunately once again to not remember the servers name, seems to be a personal problem. That being said, I thought the steak was not as good and a bit pricier than some of the other spots we tested in Charleston. I would go, but it wouldn’t necessarily be my first choice

Great place for a great steak including lava stone. Bar menu happy hour is where it's at for a burger and fries though. Best bacon cheeseburger in town.

It’s elegance with a friendly hostess and professional wait staff! Throughly enjoyed the hot rock starter and our entrées. Super location and overall fabulous experience. Beautiful bar for cocktails as well. Very recommended if you eat and enjoy fine quality meats. Great for a date night experience.

In from out of town. Friends that live in Charleston took us to dinner at Burwell’s. I ordered a filet, wet aged. Medium rare. This filet was very disappointing. It was spicey. Like peppery hot spicy. I was kind of shocked. I love heat, but not on a steak. Would be great as a taco meat. I told the wondering waiter about it and he said, “I can make another but it would be 15-20 before it would be ready. Everyone already had there food so I passed on the only option offered. Furthermore, the collared greens had, what I would call, A juniper berry flavor. I have lived in the south for 40 years and I have never tasted collard greens with that type of flavor A beautiful helping of them, but I could not eat that either. Spoke with the manager on the way out and voiced my opinion on the meal. He was somewhat apologetic. I didn’t expect to get a free meal or anything like that but more understanding and empathy would’ve been welcomed. I didn’t like the feeling of being the bad guy for saying something. I think Texas Longhorn would’ve been better. My expectations were high, and I was very disappointed, especially for the price I won’t be going back

Fresh and amazing food! The seasonal salads are delicious along with the deviled eggs. Wagyu is the way to go with the steakhouse presentation!

We celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday here- the steaks were delicious and the service was excellent. Miley and Tim at the bar were our servers and they went above and beyond. The host took our reservations earlier in the day and he was also outstanding!

Very friendly staff started at the doorway and the dining room with a big smile and welcoming. Food was excellent specially the mussels. 16oz ribeeye was perfect.Mash potatoes was delicious. Service was top notch and very attentive the guy who took are pictures was funny and happy too bad they ran out of breads since it was great to dip in the sauce

Burwell’s is hands down one of the best dining experiences in downtown Charleston. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere, service, and attention to detail were top notch. As someone who works as both a firefighter and project manager for a home builder, I really appreciate professionalism and quality, and Burwell’s delivers both at a very high level.

The steaks were cooked perfectly, the cocktails were excellent, and every member of the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of throughout the night. You can tell this place takes pride in creating a first-class experience from start to finish.

Whether it’s a date night, business dinner, or celebration, Burwell’s is absolutely worth visiting. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an outstanding steakhouse experience in Charleston.
