Cannon Distillery, also known as The Rickhouse, is a wonderfully open and super chill location on James Island. It is a cool space and a great place to hang with friends without feeling crammed in. The venue is beautiful, open, and inviting, working well for both private events and casual hangouts. It is a somewhat hidden spot that is a breakthrough for island life, offering plenty of parking and no nearby houses, so outdoor activities don't impact families.

The experience is fantastic, unique, and absolutely inspiring. Guests can enjoy a fun and educational tour and tasting of the locally distilled spirits, including Vodka, Rum, Gin, Bourbon, and Whiskey. The drinks are great, with quite the selection for any number of tastes, and bottles are available for purchase. The food is also great, with delicious options and decent portions from Roti Rolls, all at competitive prices. The staff and bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, super nice, and more chill, providing excellent service and going out of their way to help, including accommodating severe allergies with a special meal.

The space is family-friendly, where you can bring your kids, and features amenities like ping pong. It is also a cool area and venue for music and cool upcoming events like bands. While a little out there in terms of distance, it is definitely worth the visit and worth the journey, especially as it is walkable to another nearby brewery. It is a highly recommended must-have experience for Charleston local spirits and a small, local business well worth supporting.
