We had dinner at Dragon Palace on Daniel Island this evening, and it was probably the best Chinese food I’ve had in the Charleston area. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The sesame chicken was excellent, the pork dumplings and crab puffs were delicious, and the soups were a great way to start the meal.
Our waitress, Skyla, did a fantastic job. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.

Dragon Palace Chinese Bistro is a popular spot for Dim Sum on Saturdays, offering a mix of authentic dishes at a slightly higher price point. While some items like shrimp dumplings may not meet expectations, their fried rice and egg drop soup are standout choices. The restaurant is known for its savory spice chicken, which features tender chicken in a flavorful broth with finely sliced scallions. Their House Wonton Soup is a favorite among customers, praised for being the best in Charleston.
With consistently delicious food, friendly service, and impressive attention to detail, Dragon Palace is a top choice for Chinese cuisine in the Charleston area. The Sweet and Sour Chicken comes in nice larger pieces with a crunchy, light batter, while the Eye Kew offers tender beef with great flavor. The Dim Sum platter, featuring handmade dumplings, is also highly recommended, especially the Shu Mai and Pork.
Although some dishes like the fried rice and egg roll may lack flavor and substance, the portions are solid for the price. Overall, the restaurant provides a nice sit-down dining experience compared to typical takeout places, with a wide range of menu items that stand out.
