Where do I begin? First the DJ they hired started going up to girls in our group threatening to kick them out if we didn’t follow him on instagram. He was belligerent and was following groups of us around the bar threatening to kick us out until my fiancé intervened. It was genuinely scary and we were worried one of our guy friends was going to get hit because of the kind of language and things this guy was saying and how many separate aggressive incidences there were of him coming up to us.
Because of this ^ I brought it to the bartenders awareness (since this is a pretty small place and the music was already don’t for the night). I felt like they scoffed at it and did not care.
At this same time, we were also waiting on 6 shots that we had previously ordered and put on a brand new tab 20 minutes earlier. So I mentioned this to the bartender. When the bartender began making them finally, he accused me of either 1) already having had these shots made for us - (Note: I had ordered a first round of 6 shots on a different tab a full hour earlier that we had already taken), or 2) said something along the lines of him having already made this round and handed it out to other people because “I had walked away from the bar” which wasn't true . I had been at the bar this whole time waiting after ordering.
Between the personal accusation strays and the DJ acting like that, we just wanted to take our shots and leave at this point. This is when we receive our 6 shots, with a $250 bill. Never in my life of living in Charleston for 10 years has a place tried to pull a fast one like this on us. We all handed back the shots because we were so horrified.
It’s truly INSANE they thought they could charge us that and we wouldnt realize. But what’s worse I only learned today that I was also charged $180 on the FIRST round of shots I bought on a different card. We will be disputing this charge with our bank. But between the $250 charge attempt and then this $180 charge, it truly is mind blowing this place even has customers. Charleston beware. Total scammers. I don't know what the scam is or what they were getting out of trying to do this, but I will be sharing this with every local I know to stay far away from this bar.

Gorge was possibly the greatest host I’ve had At a bar. We mentioned it was our first time and he generously gifted us a shot that was absolutely wonderful. Each drink is so layered and personable that I feel like I’m tasting a story. Making this my weekly regular, even if just for Gorge’s superb company. What an incredible team and gem of a speakeasy. I understand what’s it’s like to really taste liquor instead of just consume. Amazing!!!

CAVALETTA CAFE!!! If you go here for any reason it should be this drink!! mattey was a fantastic bartender and made me and my partner feel welcomed! She got “the sacrifice” cocktail and says she’d get it every time! The vibe was chill and niche, the music was perfect. They even had 2 tvs one with classic old movies and one with 24/7 anime, apparently they do something different everyday! Ju

Aight so I went here cause a friend told me about it. I ain’t never been to a speakeasy type place before, they blew my mind yo!!! Just pressing the button to get in was fun and then I saw the liquor selection here is literally a mile long. The bartender Nate, British dude, mad cool!! He set me up w a drink called the geezer!!! Kinda like an old fashion but add some extra fashion!!! 10/10 do recommend!

Jorge was the most personable and knowledgeable bartender I have ever experienced. After I said I liked tequila he led me to a cocktail called Avo Tosta which was, hands down, the most phenomenal liquid luxury I have ever experienced. Speakeasy vibe w high clad drinks and atmosphere.
Bartenders were nice and atmosphere was good but nothing special , went on a Saturday night. one bartender was visibly altered got the drink wrong (ordered vodka soda and got a tequila shot) then he tried fixing it replacing for tequila soda and the other one bartender was kind enough to replace it to what we ordered. Next day upon checking my statement i realized that they have charged me additional $40 bucks (besides the check i have signed) for no reason. I’m going to call them today to reimburse me but that shouldn’t have happened. Luckily i check my statements. Update: their phone number on google is not in service. I messaged them on Facebook and nothing. I either will have to go back there in person or call the bank to dispute the transaction. Ridiculous

I’ve never been so disrespected by the bar tenders in my life. Walked in with a group of 20 people and sat at the bar- asked the bar tenders for a beer and was told “I don’t serve people who look like you”. Half the party left but we asked “why”- and he said “I don’t like they way yall look- you look entitled”. At that point, we walked down the the street to Moe’s tavern down the street and had a blast. Hindsight, it was great the sketchy bartenders were so rude because we found a better bar. Apparently this place has a very bad local rep for all kind of issues with customers per locals. Beware!
