Ordered a pizza through the website for a pie and an appetizer for delivery to my home less than 5 miles away. Placed the order at 5:40pm on a Friday night, knowing it would take a little longer being what day it was. Got a confirmation with the order placed and a ready time by 7:10. Great, as expected for a weekend night. So around 7:20-7:25 rolls around , no pizza. Call the store and they say it’s out for delivery, will be no later than 8 or 9min until delivery. So 7:50 rolls around and no pizza. Call back and they say it’s still out for delivery. I just tell them to cancel the order and issue me a refund. The guy says ok, no way to send any confirmation on a refund receipt, it will just show up as a refund 4 or 5 days later. Fingers crossed. Not being able to even track any stage of the order or delivery process is like I got teleported back to the 90’s. After 8pm the pizza finally shows up and I declined it at the door. I can’t rate the pizza because I never got to experience it which sucks. I can’t say I will try this again, Hopefully I get my $60 refunded. Stuff happens, I get it. Just not a great experience.

I figured it was time to leave a review here as we have been coming to Famulari's since 2017! When we visit Charleston, we sometimes get Fam's Pizza when we are in town. If we do not have it while we are visiting, we try to grab some to take home with us if it works out timing wise. Home is Charlotte, NC, so that means a three-hour drive of smelling the delicious pizza, but we do not have deep-dish pizza here, so it makes it worth it! I stopped by this weekend to pick up some pizza to bring back, hence the time for the review!

I love that you can request any of their pizzas to be deep-dish pizza style (we get the deluxe), and it is reasonably priced! We also love their spinach bread, so we always have to get an order of that. Everything is so flavorful and consistently made each time, which is why we keep coming back.

The West Ashley location is closest to my family, so it is the one we frequent most. However, we have also been to the one in Azalea Square (great location, unfortunately now closed), Cane Bay (not my best experience), and Hanahan (another great location). The deep dish usually takes longer than the quoted time at any of the locations, but it is usually not more than 10-15 minutes, sometimes it has been longer. So just be patient, it is worth the wait, but they might want to update their quote times to be a little better. Also note the locations have different vibes - relaxed chill out at the restaurant vs. more takeout feel which is what the West Ashley one is, even though there is seating inside.

Highly recommend Famulari's if you have one near you! Excellent pizza!

We’ve been ordering from them for delivery and pickup for YEARS, like what feels close to a decade, and have always had an excellent experience from the food to service. Some of the best pizza in the area. They have some of the best deep dish cheese bread, cheese pizza and Italian sausage topping for pizza of any place we’ve ever had. Their Pi Day specials are always a hit and the free dessert for your birthday with their rewards account is the perfect sweet treat.

Ordered delivery at 6:44pm this evening. Delivery confirmed for 7:44pm.
Called at 7:50pm to ask for status of delivery. Staff confirmed order placed and when I asked about delivery time, he said “that’s a good question”. When I asked if the pizza was picked up from them he said “that’s a good question”. He checked and delivery driver was out on another delivery and would not be back to pick up my order for another 10 minutes, then deliver to us would be another 20 minutes. 30 minutes late. I said cancel the order. And how disappointed we were with lack of communication.

Fantastic Pizza!!

This pizza is the best I ever had! Always so hot and fresh. When you call the first time, they take note of your name in the system assuring Everytime you call, you are addressed by your name! 💪 Love the atmosphere they have very artistic and family oriented. The cashier's and cooks are very friendly! They also have weekly deals. Check them out, it's worth it!
