Goulette Rotisserie & Grill

I went here for the first time on a date night and it was everything I wanted. Atmosphere was cozy. Staff was super friendly. Food was perfect. I had the rotisserie chicken and my boyfriend had the shrimp. We had the baguette and butter as an appetizer. Everything was delicious. My family is French & I’ve been there a couple times to visit relatives. The food tasted just like the home cooked meals I had over there. I will be back with my family so they can try it too.

A delightful experience. Top notch service and top shelf food. Wonderful menu and great specials. Will absolutely return.

We all enjoyed our evening at Goulette Rotisserie & Grill! They were able to accommodate our large group of 11...and were very gracious when we needed to move our reservation 45min. later. Great wine selection, perfect cocktails, delicious appetizers. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their entrees- Superbe! Our server was spectacular! The owner spent some time talking with our group which made the evening! Will definitely come back next time we're in Charleston! C'etait tres bon! Mes compliments au chef!

Had dinner here tonight. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was amazing, we started with Martinis and both were very cold and perfectly dirty, then had soup of the day, and main course was the Red Snapper and Lamb chops. Both perfectly seasoned and arrived hot. Wine selection is edited with most bottles under $100. A great value. We had a 2018 Margaux, which was absolutely heaven. The owner stopped by and was very engaging and truly cared about our experience. We look forward to our next visit. What a gem!

Goulette was close to our airbnb so we thought we would try it. We weren't disappointed! We tried the soups and they were delicious. Both my wife and I had the fish of the day. It was perfect! Our server was knowledgeable and very courteous. The fries were incredible!

My wife and I had dinner at Gaulette during a recent Charleston visit. We're staying on the west side of town, near the medical school, and happened by the restaurant while walking around the neighborhood. We ate at about 7:15 on a Tuesday evening and found the restaurant rather quiet at that hour. The single waitress was also serving as bartender, and seemed more than capable of handling both jobs. Her service was friendly, attentive and, surprisingly, unrushed. We started with a bowl of chicken soup, The soup was excellent, with large chunks of very good roasted chicken and a very tasty broth. My wife had a mixed seafood platter; I had flank steak. Both dishes were served with vegetables and duck fat fries. Everything was excellent; my one "complaint" might be that the fries were so rich, and the servings so generous, that neither of us could finish them. Gaulette proved to be a good discovery. We were glad we tried it, and certainly would recommend it.

One of the best meals we have had in Charleston in the six years we have lived here. The rotisserie chicken and the hanger steak are special. “Simple food” that is anything but.

Amazing service by Tamzen that was only topped by the quality of the food.The outside of the restaurant doesn't do this place justice. Strongly recommend.

Nice space, friendly staff, good service and food BUT, the waitress DID NOT disclose the price of the day’s special. When the bill came, it cost $76 which was 3x more than the average entree. It felt dishonest to me.

Great atmosphere and food! We enjoyed a nice conversation at the bar and the cheese plate and the frites are a must!

Absolutely delicious. The duck was awesome and the bread terrific. Topped off with outstanding cheesecake.

Stopped by on a suggestion from a friend as I love steak frittes. Was very impressed not only with my meal but the friendly service as well. I've been back and each meal continues to be wonderful. A big fan!!!

Have eaten here several times with friends. Every meal has been fantastic. The service, ambiance and food is always spot on. Consistency counts and they have the formula.

Dined there last night with good friend. The noise level was deafening. (I have been there many times) The owner used unwelcome familiarity to kiss each of us on cheek- apparently not knowing (or caring) that COVID is still spreading. And on our way out, he repeated that gesture. We agreed we will not return there.This was not being extra careful for customers. Could he be asymptomatic? Under any circumstances, we did not like it. (Yes, I know it’s a French thing….but no. ) Done.
