I’ve been here twice while traveling for work and both times my service has been stellar and the food has been exceptional. Yesterday I was greeted and serviced by Kellisa and her tone, demeanor and overall aura made me feel safe, welcomed and peaceful. I’ve had some horrible service experiences in Charleston as a Black woman when dining solo in some establishments, but here felt like home. Don’t change a thing and I will always come back here!

I took my mother out for her birthday dinner at Hannibal's this past Tuesday. It was a truly wonderful experience. She ordered the smothered pork chops and I ordered the drummettes. The food was so good we ordered 5 more dishes to bring home to the rest of our family. The service was excellent, and we had a wonderful time. The ambience was very welcoming and warm. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Charleston!

We came in on for lunch on the Friday before Thanksgiving right after flying into Charleston so the restaurant wasn't busy inside although there were several carryout orders we saw picked up. The service was great with a really friendly server who answered a lot of my mom's questions about the menu. The crab rice, collard greens and hush puppies were great. I wasn't a fan of the mac and cheese as it tasted a little bland, but my main meal was really good. If I visit Charleston again I'd definitely come back. The one suggestion we'd give was the music inside was a little loud.

I attended restaurant last weekend with a group. The service was okay, food wasn’t ready and servants were moving around with their heads cut off.

If you’re anywhere near Charleston, this should be your highest of priority to stop into! My highest recommendations are- Their crab fried rice, sweet yams (the yams were perfect), mac & cheese, collard greens, and their bread pudding/lemon cake! Ignore the complaints about the wait time- If you have to wait a little longer than you’re used to, it is worth! every! bit! of! the! wait! The people inside are lovely, and we could not have felt more at home. We’ll be dreaming about Hannibal’s in Philly for the next few decades.

This is exactly what we were looking for! Visiting from Alabama. From the first sip of the sweet tea, I knew we were amongst our people lol. Enjoyed everything about the entire experience. Our waitress Gabe was attentive and quick. The only issue we had was finding parking (which is available for free 2 blocks down) but once we figured that out we were good!
