Upscale dining for dinner - great food and wonderful service. Some folks were dressed up and others more casual - seems to suit anyone. The seafood was delicious. Definitely a must-visit in Charleston for the southern meals and hospitality. (Get reservations in advance, if possible. Times were limited even a few weeks in advance.

Definitely a tourist hotspot, but we still really enjoyed eating here! We had fried green tomatoes for the first time here which was excellent, also bring warm bread and butter to the table. This place has a very southern vibe and is full of old ladies.

Food was excellent. Maybe not worth the price, but hey, that’s Charleston. We had exceptionally good service. However, Beer selection and decor were basically straight out of 1993.

Visited for dinner reservations. Quickly seated upon check in. The restaurant was busy with moderate noise atmosphere. Our server was great and attentive with great menu item suggestions. We had deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes appetizers - the fried green tomatoes were perfection with a very even fruity that was crunchy and the inside was tender (not mushy). Our server suggested the market catch and it was a great choice. Good portion and very flavorful. A must visit in Charleston! $$$ @sharpandsoundstyle

We stopped into Magnolias to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were seated in the back room due to the size of our party, a 14 top. We ordered some appetizers; fried green tomatoes, scallops, and sweet potato fries for our two year old daughter. The fried green tomatoes are the best I've ever had, and I mean that!! Scallops were phenomenal as well cooked perfectly and very large, definitely (U-10/U-12) if I had to guess. Both dishes had great sauces and were plated really nicely. My wife, sister, and Aunt ordered the shrimp and grits. Really really good dish. My cousin ordered the seafood bouillabaise phenomenal rich in flavor, with a succotash flair to it. My brother in law did the "chef special," which was a paella like dish that was masterfully put together!! My mother had the jambalaya and It was really really good as well!! Im an Executive Sous Chef in Houston, Texas. I've worked at some of best restaurants in houston with some extremely talented Chefs. So I went to the kitchen and personally thanked the Chef, and his kitchen team for a great meal!! Everydish was well put together, seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Chef here definitely has a knack for putting together great flavored dishes. Magnolias hands is my favorite restaurant in Charleston. I could have eaten here every night and tried a different dish off menu. The service was phenomenal as well!! I can't remember or servers name, but he was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions!! Do not short yourself by passing up this gem of a restaurant!!

Everything was world class at magnolias. The whole staff seemed professional and enthusiastic. They have a gluten free menus and the servers were knowledgeable of it. This is so nice to see. The atmosphere was great and the table setting was elegant. We ordered salad and shellfish and grits. The dish was so good. The grits were soft and flavorful and the scallops were literally the best that I have ever had both in terms of flavor and texture. I also had a Manhattan that was very good. I would recommend magnolias for anyone visiting CharlestonDietary restrictions: They have a wonderful gluten free menu

We loved this restaurant so much that we came two nights in a row while on our vacation. Amazing food, the best bread I’ve ever had, and excellent service. They have unique vegetarian options as well.
