Really love Maison. We dine there often and it never disappoints. Danielle is the absolute best server we've ever had anywhere.

What a delightful find! This small French bistro is on North King out of the historical area but so very worth the five minute Uber ride! We arrived and were warmly greeted by staff and shown to our table for two. Our gracious and experienced waiter, Joel, greeted us shortly. He offered us each a glass of French bubbly to celebrate my birthday. His detailed knowledge of the menu was impressive as he walked us through each menu item, answering every question we had. I opted for a starter of foie gras torchon—a buttery pate-style foie gras—that was served with a small dollop of apple butter on one side, roasted pecans in Sauternes on the other and four slices of toasted brioche...heavenly! Hubby had the French onion soup croquette which tasted every bit like the soup in its name but served as a croquette..delicious! As an entree, Joel recommended the monk fish chop. I have had pork chops and steak chops but never a monk fish chop! Tender, buttery monkfish with a bone down the middle was coated in toasted sliced almonds. This was sautéed and served on a fantastic sauce of brown butter jus and capers with a side of Carolina gold rice pilaf. Fantastic! Hubby had the duck leg confit which fell off the bone in a perfectly moist banyuls jus with lentils and foie gras. We completely enjoyed our food and dining experience...from first welcome to final good byes, we were wowed! We wish the owners and staff the BEST of everything and a long run for their restaurant—phenomenal!!! Thank you!

Outstanding service and excellent food. Wine, mains, and desserts were incredible, but we thought the appetizer selection was less interesting, and the ones we had were just okay.

When in Charleston this place needs to be added to your go to list. It is tucked away on the less chaotic section of King street! Highly recommend! The food was incredible and the service top notch!

Always excellent. Justin's version of the boulevardier is amazing. The special short rib and polenta was out of this world. And the onion soup croquette, which is genius-level cooking, is a must try. The best staff and service in Charleston.

Beautiful food. Don't miss it. Someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing. Service is professional and warm. Maison is off the beaten path in Charleston So not overrun with tourist.

An Exquisite Dining Experience at Maison Charleston

Our evening at Maison Charleston was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality, impeccable service, and a beautifully curated atmosphere that struck the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The cocktails and mocktails were expertly crafted, setting the stage for a night of indulgent flavors and shared experiences.

With a party of four, we chose to begin our meal by sharing a selection of appetizers, and each dish was a masterpiece in its own right. The Onion Soup Croquette was an absolute delight—crispy on the outside, meltingly rich on the inside, with the perfect touch of mimolette. The Onion Tarte Tatin was a beautiful balance of sweet and savory, with the caramelized onion paired beautifully with fromage blanc and honey gastrique. The Clarified Butter Pommes Frites were pure decadence—golden, crispy perfection, elevated even further by the béarnaise aioli. We also had the pleasure of enjoying the special appetizer of the evening—Squid Ink Filled Pasta, which was both visually striking and bursting with incredible depth of flavor.

For our entrées, each of us selected our own dish, and the variety of flavors was truly outstanding. The Seared Trout, paired with crushed potato, winter greens, and a roasted kumquat vinaigrette, was a wonderful harmony of bright citrus and delicate seafood flavors. The Monkfish Chop Almondine was another standout, with perfectly cooked monkfish, accompanied by broccolini, capers, lemon, and a luscious lemon beurre blanc that tied it all together beautifully. The Roasted Chicken Farci was a comforting and luxurious dish, featuring succulent chicken, earthy chestnuts, and a deeply flavorful sauce forestière. Each entrée was thoughtfully composed, showcasing the kitchen’s precision, creativity, and respect for ingredients.

From start to finish, Maison Charleston delivered a flawless dining experience—exquisite food, impeccable service, and an inviting ambiance that made for an unforgettable evening. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge in one of Charleston’s finest dining experiences, Maison is an absolute must-visit.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!

So glad we worked this place into our eating adventures in Charleston. So many great places to choose from, but Maison will be a place we come back to now. The service and drinks were just phenomenal. I loved everything I ate too, even with some things slightly on the salty side. The rabbit pot pie was so good.

We had an outstanding experience at Maison. Thanks to Nate our server and the rest of the team for exceptional service. They will treat you like royalty.
The kitchen offers refined dishes. The appetizer dishes we chose were seafood bisque and onion soup croquette. For main course we treated ourselves to duck confit and rabbit en croute. Besides food, they will serve you with an excellent choice of cocktails or wine.
Hands down one of the best places to eat in Charleston.

Wow, what a hidden gem of a restaurant. My compliments to the chef and the incredible staff for outstanding service. Maison can be really difficult to get into but it's absolutely worth the wait. The scallops were perfectly prepared and the presentation was outstanding. If you enjoy rabbit the pot pie is out of this world.
