Food was delicious, atmosphere is nice, chefs aren't as interactive as other Japanese steak houses I've visited. Would definitely go back again. Enjoyed the birthday special for my 13yr old.

On the hibachi side, our amazing server Abby kept everything flowing while Chef Danny had us laughing nonstop and cooking up the most delicious feast. Dinner AND a show, all in one! Over on the sushi side, you’ll find fresh fish flown in from Japan every Friday, plus a full bar for the adults.
Hachiya Kyoto is lively, kid-friendly, and perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or any celebration you want to make unforgettable!

You will be waiting 30+ minutes on top of your reservation because they overbooked themselves so badly. They cannot turn the tables over fast enough and the result is a very rushed experience while the overworked staff do their best to get things done as quickly as possible
This is not the Hibachi ~experience~ that most places offer. There was very little performance (and no shrimp toss) due to our poor chef simply not having the time. Not to mention the cheapest possible everything they can give you. Fried rice used to have vegetables in it but now you get rice and soy sauce, and plastic cups of school lunch sherbet.
Just overall an expensive experience which you wait 40 minutes past your reservation for only to receive the cheapest and quickest service they can possibly provide.

This place is a complete joke. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Waited for an hour and a half only to be told it would be 45 more minutes. Go ANYWHERE Z but here.
