Pizza a Modo Mio (New York Pizzeria)

Usually order the pepperoni and sausage pizza. This time it was obviously old, as in cold and not fresh. No sauce and very little cheese. Hope this was just a one time deal. Otherwise I’ll be going somewhere else.

This was our first time, and am super disappointed in the lack of concern there with safe food handling. From our table I watched a staff member preparing salad with bare hands, often wiping her hands on her clothing and then her hair. When I went to the counter to ask for a refund for the salad I no longer wanted, I saw no one preparing food wearing gloves except one gentleman who had on one glove. He never changed it while touching multiple surfaces including their phone and computer screen. There was no manager present to discuss this with and anyone who it should have been discussed with was unavailable. The staff was apologetic, they claim they don’t wear gloves when preparing pizza because the oven is hot. They did glove up after we spoke however everything’s already contaminated at that point and I did not wish to eat there. Am glad they have an open kitchen so that this all didn’t happen unknowingly.

Best pizza in Charleston! We are a house divided because half of us love the New York style and the other half the Sicilian! It’s always perfection.

Delicious pizza pies. Interesting tables on the front patio made for a heightened outdoor dining experience. I will return.

I called ahead for takeout and was told it would be about a 40 to 45 minute wait, which was spot on. When I arrived, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. While I waited, I tried a slice of cheese pizza and honestly it was almost perfect. I would give that slice an easy 8.5 out of 10 and it really showed the potential of this place.

When my takeout order came out, I had the Brooklyn. Based on pictures I had seen before, I was expecting a little more freshness in the presentation. The basil was not added until I asked, and when it was, it did not look very fresh and was placed unevenly. The pizza itself had that classic New York style with a thin and foldable crust, but overall I would rate it around a 6 out of 10.

I truly believe I just caught them at a tough time on a busy night. I am not giving up on this place because I can tell there is a lot of potential here, and I would really like to come back and give them another shot.

Listen a solid 10/10. I asked locals about the best in the city. This restaurant came highly recommended and I now understand why! Food is AMAZING! Customer a service is TOP TIER! Atmosphere is such a vibe. Especially if you grew up In the 2000’s lol. I just moved here and found my new spot! Thank you again and yall better stop through and check them out!

The Hot Roni Pizza had less pepperoni on itthen I expected. And given its price id expected a more standout flavor/amount of toppings. It was okay.

I got a house salad and that too was okay, could have been better. But it was just Okay.

I did not enjoy the way I was greeted or the lack their of, but that too is okay. Maybe they were busy or they were having an off day.

Although I was left unimpressed with my first visit and the food i bought, I will be returning to buy different items, to try and to give my honest, non biased, and non persuaded review.

The main thing that sticks out about this place is how genuinely hard working the owner is. I have to tip my hat to a man who puts in that much work and cares that much.

We tried the four cheese, the Margherita, and a pineapple, sausage, and mushroom pie. The quality of the ingredients is top notch, and the chef puts a lot of passion and creativity into his pies. Among the pizza places in the greater Charleston area, they are at or near the top. I'll be back for more!!

I visited the pizzeria 3/22 and was very disappointed with the service and the pizza. I arrived and ordered to go. Sat and waited until I walked out willing to leave without the pie. My wife stayed a few more minutes and finally received the wrong pizza. They figured things out and she received the correct pizza and it was cold and terrible. I should have asked for a refund. I was excited as the previous reviewer and walked away very disappointed.

Recently came to celebrate my birthday with my former patrol partner. We hit a pizza place each month and Yelp them or Google review. Tonight I had a traditional pepperoni slice and a pepperoni pinwheel.

The slice was delicious. It had minimal flop and very tasty. I’m a transplant from the west coast where there are amazing pizza parlors. This stuff here competes with the best. The slice was actually better than Antonio’s on Dorchester and it beats Brooklyn South. The pinwheel was awesome and quite possibly one of my favorite pizza products. It’s worth the drive from Summerville.

The only negative was it was just too cold in the lobby area, but hey, not worth avoiding, treat it like a movie theater and bring a hoodie if you’re worried. I’m looking forward to their offering of a Detroit soon.
