Porchetta Shop Reviews
If you love authentic Italian sandwiches, Porkchetta is the place to go. Their sandwiches are served on fresh, homemade focaccia bread and packed with high-quality, fresh ingredients. Every bite is full of flavor, and the staff makes you feel right at home. An outstanding experience from start to finish — highly recommend!
The porcini rubbed prime rib sandwich is without a doubt one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in Charleston. I have been trying to get by this place for a couple of weeks and I am glad that I did. I compared this sandwich against my other favorite in Charleston, which was a steak sandwich from Fugazi… Only to find out that they own that restaurant as well. Absolutely fantastic sandwich will become a regular here and I will recommend you to everybody.

The Porchetta Shop offers an authentic Italian experience with a classic atmosphere. Their highly praised porchetta and mortadella sandwiches feature incredible focaccia, high-quality ingredients, and excellent seasoning. Even those familiar with home-cooked Italian food approve of the shop's offerings. Customers can also enjoy the delicious chocolate chip cookies. The staff is friendly, making it a must-visit spot in Charleston. The menu includes a variety of options beyond pork, and the sandwiches are large enough to share. Customers recommend trying the Porchetta #2 with broccoli rabe and hot peppers, as well as the whipped ricotta with prosciutto. The online ordering is convenient, and the portions are generous, using fresh, flavorful ingredients and delicious bread.
On busy weekends, the shop can get crowded, but it’s worth the wait. The setup involves ordering at the glass where sandwiches are made, receiving a ticket, and then finding a spot to wait. While dining is primarily standing room only, the atmosphere remains enjoyable. The prosciutto is sliced fresh while customers watch, and the staff works diligently to serve everyone. Desserts like cannoli and drinks such as Peligrino complete the experience. Though some customers have noted a preference for traditional roasted skin instead of "crackling" on the porchetta, the overall consensus is that the sandwiches are exceptional, with some claiming it is the best they have ever tasted.
