Food was good except ice cream had no flavor The cook kept clanking the pans -very loud bangs-throughout our meal even though we complained about noise to our waiter The water said he told the manager we would never return or recommend because of the noise We never saw the manager Overall not a good experience

Great place for outside Sunday lunch. Oysters and crab cake were delicious, as well as the chocolate mousse special.

Delightful meal. I seldom order crab cakes outside of Maryland, but these were spot on. Perhaps the most delish collard greens ever. Highly satisfying! Reasonable value. Would return here a lot based on food quality. A tad loud

Excellent food and service with a beautiful setting for the price, just be aware of how loud it can be.

Great seafood, ambiance and service! Not for a quiet place to eat; definitely fitting for my family of 5, large parties and groups.

Food was delicious! Crab cake was fully crab, little filler, if sny. Soft shell crab was scrumptious. Waiter Joseph was excellent!

Louis

The waiter was attentive, the seafood was fresh and well prepared. This was soft shell crab and oyster season and Rappahannock did not disappoint!

It is our go to place, adjacent parking, consistently good food and wine, and clams and oysters fresh and available. Our server,Jay, was marvelous as well. We've been a dozen times and will surely return.

Wide variety of oysters, sweet local shrimp, blue crab cake but not lump meat! Great mezcal margarita, OK selection of beers on draft. A bit pricey at $9 for side salad and $7 for bread, so best to go during 4-6pm happy hour.

Cute venue. Worst service in Charleston. Food really over priced.

Had a reservation with my in-laws to eat here for Christmas Eve (it’s not often a restaurant is so bad that I have to write a review during Christmas instead of spending time with family) at 7:30 PM, got our mains at 9:15 PM and didn’t leave until 9:45 PM. We were just hoping for a standard restaurant experience, but I didn’t realize it would take the same amount of time as it would to fly and see my parents a few states away.

Waitress was great, felt bad for front of house. Back of house seemed to be the culprit. The food was either rushed or had been sitting (grilled oysters were sitting - we had to send this back, no chimichurri on the catch of the day, etc.). Could have just been a one-off bad day, didn’t even get comp’d on the poor experience. As you might expect, won’t be going back.

The food was amazing! The grits are the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The service was SLOW. I’m not sure where the disconnect happened but our drinks did not get up the table until we were just about finished eating. We had to ask another server to check on our food and drinks because the service was so slow. I would visit again but would request to be seated elsewhere.

Decided to give it a try. Food was good, service was not.
We sat at the bar, interesting that a table server waited on us and not the bartenders, but however they want to run the operation. Our server at times seemed pulled in too many directions and there were gaps of attentiveness.
We ordered a couple of drinks to start, a bloody mary that was lack luster, flavor was eh/garnish had one very small broken olive and a tiny banana pepper, the amaretto sour we ordered arrived but didnt look like any we have ever seen (very clear golden color) which we questioned. The server asked us to "just taste it", nope definitely not an amaretto sour, it was whiskey & water. Server questioned the bartender and was told they were out Amaretto, there was 1/2 a bottle sitting on the shelf right in front of us 🤷. The bartender didnt take any intiative to acknowledege us or apologize for sending the wrong drink (he was too husy breaking glassware throughout the evening, saw him break no less than 3 glasses while we were there that hour. Sure hope none if the broken glass wound up in anything going to customers).
Food did come out timely and was good, plate presentation was nice.
When we expressed our displeasure with the staff, they made an offer to give us another drink which we didnt want at the end of the meal. No other concession was made, like removing the glass of wine we irdered in plafe ifbthe phantom Amaretto Sour. After bringing the snafu to the servers attention, the 2 bartenders proceeded to chat amongst themselves snickering over the situation/ giving us condescending looks, completely unprofessional. Not sure where the floor manager was but they certainly didn't come discuss the situation with us. In a city with many fine establishments, I would recommend to anyone, go elsewhere and not here.

Everything was fantastic. We share a bunch of oysters, then I got the fish of the day, it was a full red snapper and onion soup steamed clams.
