I normally never write reviews for places, but because of what happened last night, I feel obligated to. One of your bouncers refused entry for one of our friends who had a service animal. This is a civil rights violation of ADA (American Disability Act). The dog had a service vest on showing he is trained for seizure detection and response.
The bouncer initially said no dogs were allowed to our friend. After clarifying it was a service animal, the bouncer then backpedaled and claimed he was too drunk for entry. Our friend was completely sober. We even clarified that to the bouncer who was not even willing to have a conversation.
Thankfully we got our cover fee back and were able to leave. We understand not wanting the dog inside the bar, but we could have easily been outside in the gated section if that became an issue. It’s the fact your bouncer had to come up with a fake excuse to refuse entry. While you as a business have the right to refuse service, you cannot deny service animals, and then use the lie of “being too drunk” as a way to ignore the issue after the fact. Staying on the outside patio would have been a nonissue, but the bouncer would not even have a conversation. We even asked if we could speak to another employee and he refused.
I will personally file a civil rights violation complaint with Department of Justice since your establishment denied a service animal.
awful service very disrespectful, never ever visit worst in the area.
Incredible dive bar to drink a pbr (or 5) this place has character

By far my favorite bar. I’ve been going here for years and have never been to a place quite like it. It’s my favorite spot for a night out dancing or just a drink with friends. I have always felt safe here as a queer person and know the staff will always have our backs to ensure our safety and wellbeing. My trans friends feel the most comfortable coming to this bar because of how amazing the staff is and the community within the establishment. I adore coming in to see Conner and David at the bar and they truly make my night. I will always recommend rec room to anyone that will listen. Thanks for making such a unique and inclusive space ♡

Dark and cheap. If you're looking for the busy, local dive. This is it.

I love the Recovery Room. It has a great atmosphere, and is an extremely clean and good laid back dive bar. The drinks are good and it's always full of plenty of people, inside and in their outdoor seating. You can play pool, foosball, and other stuff. I had the opportunity to take some pictures very early when it wasn't crowded, so here they are.

Brilliant dive with a sense of what it is - the biggest PBR seller in the world, with the most beautiful people you can find. The food is always bangin' and the paper airplane competition features Charleston's classiest bartender. Any night you go, you'll be wooed to drunken-happy tears because they know how to pour a drink. Go, enjoy yourself.

You want a dive bar? This is it. PBR tastes better here; it's insane. The floor is sticky but the vibes are good.

A place where patrons become paper airplane champions, dong dart dominant, foosball famous, pool table perennials, bocce ball bosses, drinkers of the year, happy hour heroes , and much much more. A place where PBR flows like white water rapids. A dream come true.
