Best Italian casual in town! Pizza is "to die for" and the pasta is pretty great! Wish they had a tad bigger menu, but what they do they do REALLY WELL! Nice people, well run and cozy!

Renzo is consistently delicious and always has a good vibe. Their pizza is non traditional but we love it. And you need to get the ranch as a side. The Caesar is also my favorite in town.

Renzo is hands down my favorite restaurant in Charleston. It’s first and foremost delicious, but also loud (in the best way) and cozy. In a city that often times takes its food too seriously, Renzo is irreverent and fun.Do yourself a favor and order the Korean fried chicken and a Caesar. It’s the best salad in town and those two items alone make a great meal. But don’t stop there. The pastas sell out fast because they’re good - make earlier reservations and guarantee yourself a selection of menu items. The wood fired pizzas are the perfect mix of crusty edges and soft centers. You get char and chew all on one plate. Finally, never miss a “specials” event, loved red sauce week so much the first night we came back for a second. Feast of the Seven Fishes is better than my husband’s Italian grandmother (but I didn’t tell her that).
I never write restaurant reviews but tonight I felt compelled to share my experience at Renzo’s.We ordered Caesar salad and a pizza. The Caesar salad was incredibly salty. It was a shame because the lettuce was very high quality and the sesame and sunflower seeds were a unique addition. Unfortunately, the excessively salty dressing ruined the overall taste and had us drinking copious amounts of water. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he offered a curt “I’m sorry.” and promptly left. The pizza was both burnt and soggy. A tough combination to achieve! It’s hard to believe that a restaurant whose menu is dominated by pizza offerings can get it so wrong but Renzo, unfortunately, did.I do not recommend this establishment.

Love Renzo. Great value Italian with an intimate vibe that finds the perfect blend between casual and formal. A+ date spot and an even better double date spot.

Terrible experience. There are several previous poor reviews that talk about the unfriendly and rude waitstaff, and I echo that. Service was awful. But more at issue was that after we were seated we were informed that they had run out of dough. No pizza, empinadas or other foods that required dough. It was 9pm (we had confirmed reservations at 9, not just a walk up party) so there was no time to go anywhere else. We had the pasta dish, which was OK. I guess I do not understand how a pizza place runs out of dough. Either they don't make their own and do not know how to order properly, or if they make their own dough they are just plain lazy. If they actually have dough when you go your experience may be much different, but I would not expect friendly, attentive service in any case. .

We ordered five pizzas. While the taste of the pizza was good, the crust of them was burnt. All five of them had their crust charred all around. In retrospective, I should have sent them back, however I noticed that everyone's pizza was like that. Maybe it is a local thing, but I do not believe you have to scrap burned parts with a knife, or leave the crust on the plate. Service was good overall.
Lovely pizza!!
