Saffron Restaurant & Bakery Reviews

Then she tossed the goodie bag container on the counter & said nothing else. Mind you she treated the white customers...read full review
A friend of mine gave me a gift card and they told me it had “expired” even though the original receipt for the fort card did not include information about gift cards expiring. Kind of a bummer.
Everything we've tried has been amazing. I can't wait to go again and we're from the West Coast!

Saffron Restaurant & Bakery offers delicious Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including a standout combination appetizer platter and numerous vegetarian options. The restaurant has a casual vibe, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a good place to visit. Known as a Charleston staple on East Bay, Saffron has been around for decades and provides strong value, with entrees priced around $20 and glasses of wine between $6 and $10. The menu clearly emphasizes desserts, with enticing pastries that are hard to resist. Customers have enjoyed dishes like pitta bread and hummus, where the flavors are incredible, and the place also offers a vegan menu, including a falafel wrap with an appealing flavor mix.
While service can sometimes be slow, partly due to being understaffed, the staff are outgoing and helpful, often providing suggestions. Recently, a customer mentioned that Coy was a great server. The chef, known for her excellent cooking, has received praise for the amazing kabobs and sampler dishes, as well as for the tiramisu dessert. Despite occasional slow service and no background music, the overall experience is positive, especially for those who appreciate good food and friendly service. Visitors are encouraged to save room for the delicious pastries and treats, as Saffron is regarded as the best bakery in Charleston.
