We had the absolute pleasure of working with Salthouse at our Charleston wedding over this past weekend and we cannot recommend them enough! Salthouse is an amazing catering company. Their communication from the beginning stages of planning our event all the way through to the end of the event were impeccable.
The food is absolutely delicious and the service during the event is top-notch as well! The icing on the cake is the fact that they packed the hosts food to go at the end of the night, which was a unexpected blessing for when we got home and realized we had not eaten enough to combat our alcohol consumption! Jacqueline and Vivian were incredibly responsive throughout the planning process. They worked with us to build a menu that reflected our tastes and felt personal. They even went out of their way to accommodate special requests, including vegetarian and gluten-free options that our guests truly appreciated. On the wedding day, the catering team worked with our planner flawlessly to keep the event running smoothly.The timing was perfect, the presentation was beautiful, and the staff was warm, friendly, and attentive.

Our guests are still talking about the food!!! Each course was fantastic. Standouts included the seared scallop lollypops and rosemary chicken spiedie with a sorghum glaze, but honestly, every item on the menu was a hit.

We were looking for a farm-to-table menu for our wedding reception and the venue pointed us to Salthouse. Jacqueline and the team were great communicators, did an excellent job of understanding the experience we wanted to create for our guests and the type of food we wanted to serve. The helped us build a brilliant menu, including plans for our guests with dietary restrictions. If a 5+ star review was possible, Salthouse earned more than 5 stars.

Salthouse was fantastic for our celebration - my parent's 60th wedding anniversary party! The process from start to finish was so smooth and Jacqueline was so helpful with decisions we needed to make as well as offering up some good ideas! Marisa and the team that came onsite were amazing, friendly and did a fantastic job with serving the passed appetizers, the buffet style dinner, cake cutting/serving and cleaning up! They didn't leave anything undone! The food was delicious! Highly recommend them! 😊

My husband’s 80th birthday party went beautifully, with much credit and high praise for Salthouse Catering. The last time I had planned such an event was our wedding reception over 40 years ago (!), so the full-service guidance and high-caliber professionalism of the staff was much needed and fully appreciated. Communication prior to the event was smooth, clear, and prompt. Pricing was transparent and straightforward. Coordination with the event rentals company was efficient. Every detail was thought through meticulously and executed just as planned. The staff on hand at the event itself were top notch. I, the hostess was able to enjoy myself and my guests, and to focus on truly celebrating my husband.
But what attracted us to begin with was the food, of course. For this afternoon event for 50, we had two displays —-both so good! ——and four wonderful passed appetizers, as well as beverages. I was so impressed at how the chefs and back of house crew came in to a kitchen they’d never seen before and made the magic happen! Total pros. Everything was delicious and everyone was happy.
I would recommend Salthouse Catering most enthusiastically to anyone planning an event in this area.

The food was absolutely incredible—each dish was crafted to perfection, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was.

The bar service was equally impressive. The bartenders were professional, friendly, and attentive, creating a fantastic atmosphere while keeping the drinks flowing all night. Only complaint was the bar staff were talking and laughing during the wedding ceremony which was distracting.

Salthouse Catering made our special day even better, delivering both exceptional food and seamless service. We highly recommend them for any event—our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them!

Salthouse did an incredible job catering our wedding at Boone Hall Plantation. We did a selection of passed hors d'oeuvres, a dinner buffet, and assorted desserts and EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! We had multiple guest tell us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding! Thank you Jacqueline & the Salthouse team!!!

We used Salthouse Catering for my Dad's 70th birthday party last week and they were EXCEPTIONAL! Everyone cannot stop raving about the delicious food. Jacqueline was so great to work with! Tanya Guerrieri and her phenomenal staff made my Mother’s “Celebration of Life” reception iconic! The attention to detail was impeccable and could never be matched by anyone else. All aspects were covered to perfection!!! The delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres, the desserts, the “Memory Table” as well as all the set up, displays and the loving presentations completely told my Mother’s life story.
