Sweet venue! Delightful cupcakes. Sweet but not too sweet, we chose red velvet. These were so moist, with a great flavor. The cupcakes are not huge, but they really hit the spot! Definitely planning on returning

Cupcakes are smaller then they before. Same good taste. If I knew the were this small I would have bought more. They were so big in the past I use to cut them in half because they were so rich in favor We could not eat the whole thing at one time.

They are forbidden from ever opening a cupcake store anywhere near Athens Georgia! It's good that we only play South Carolina every two years so I get my fix then. And to top it off, it's buy 5 get one free! Like I need more enticement!! Wonderful! But I'm warning you...stay away from Athens!

The shop itself is small but cute. I went on a Friday and they only had a few cupcakes on display and no other desserts presently available. But I did fall in love with the Apple Pie Cupcake!

When I walked in I had no idea what to expect. I've never had cupcakes downsouth since I'm from the north and we only have cupcakes upnorth. Suffice to say I was excited but also nervous to discover a new world of cupcakes. The sales associate Cara could tell I was nervous and helped me with all my sales needs. She could not have been better at her job. Honestly if she was trying to sell me the moon I would've bought it. She convinced me to try the "red velvet" cupcake and it was a delight. The cupcake here changed my life. I will forever remember this experience and I'm especially thankful for the wonderful service I received from sales associate Cara.

We needed to make change for parking so popped in here to do that. This was an absolute happy accident that we came across this place. I like to consider myself a cupcake connoisseur and I have to spread the news that these are by far the BEST cupcakes in South Carolina and maybe even the east coast. We ordered a bourbon pecan. My husband and I walked out not thinking much- took a bite and stopped immediately. I looked at him and he looked at me as we silently agreed we needed more. So we did just that! I am obsessed with the bourbon pecan and the Samoa. Vanilla bean is good but the flavors In the others really steal the show. The frosting! Oye, It’s Something you have to experience for yourself. So yummy. Do yourself a favor if you are in Columbia…stop in. You won’t regret it. Also- pro tip. Bring coins for parking. The store is cashless and you will need Apple Pay or a card to purchase anything

Disappointed in cupcakes & customer service. Ordered cupcakes for delivery & received items with melted icing & toppings on the bottom of the box. Manger said they do not always put the boxes in a paper bag for delivery. Instead of apologizing about the issue or trying to resolve, the manager attempted to argue that direct sunlight doesn't effect the icing on a cupcake. These cupcakes are expensive & we would expect the store to do everything they can to make sure they arrive intact but they do not. Dissatisfied & will not be ordering from here again.

The peach cupcake was good though much more buttercream frosting than cake. The key lime cupcake was also decent and tasted as the name suggests. However, i was expecting a bit more moisture and softness from the texture than the more starched texture. There was no place to sit down unfortunately.
Great place!! I'm pregnant and was craving something sweet and was going to be in the area so stopped by here! Delicious!! The red velvet cupcake was beyond satisfying! I wish they had some of the other flavors they usually have for the day but they were out. No problem though! Just means I have to go back and get some more!

I really really love this place because they DO have the best cupcakes in town however, the choice of flavors has not drawn my family and I there lately. Please bring back the blueberry, chocolate almond, and other flavors that was a major hit year last. We miss you guys!

We were in the area and stopped by to pickup cupcakes before heading back to Charlotte. I was the only one in the store on a Saturday afternoon. The girl at the register told me to take my time and let her know when I was ready to order. She started chatting with coworkers, and so when I was ready to order I had to wait a second, but I still think she was distracted as I wanted the black bottom and bourbon pecan pie. When I got home, I tried them. Black Bottom (really Tuxedo) - I love cheesecake (my favorite dessert), so I was looking forward to the black bottom since it has cheesecake. Mine had no cheesecake. I went back to check out the description just to make sure I had it correctly, it was then that I realized I had been given Tuxedo instead. Tuxedo was still a lovely cupcake - I loved the chocolate and cream cheese frosting, just wasn't what I was wanting. Bourbon Pecan Pie - not sure I tasted bourbon, nor do I get "pie" thoughts from it. I still however really enjoyed the flavor and all the pecans. Pupcake - I got a set of two pupcakes for my dog. He loved them. One thing to note - these were very hard, like crunchy cookie treats vs. the true texture of a cupcake. I've got pupcakes before that are soft like cupcakes from other places. So if you have a dog that is picky on texture, they may not enjoy. My dog did though! I did enjoy my cupcakes overall, but small critiques and issues (mainly not getting what I ordered) prevents this from being 5 star. My only other critique - cupcakes were given to me in a brown paper bag. Very flimsy and the cupcakes did fall over on the trip back home, but still made it. I'd like to see better packaging for taking cupcakes to go.

We are traveling from Ohio and came across this place while walking around. I'm serious, this is THE BEST cupcake I have ever had in my life. I got the strawberry shortcake cupcake and it was delicious. I also got a chocolate cake pop that was just as amazing. The staff was so friendly and there is a large selection of cupcakes and other treats. Will be stopping by again before we leave!

For as long as I can remember, I have been going to Cupcake Down South for their regular, mega, holiday, special occasion cupcakes for five years. They have top all others in my opinion and their variety of flavors are unbeatable.
