Island Grill Reviews
I called Island Grill today around 10:30 am for lunch and asked if I would be able to order early. I was told yes! I received my food. The chicken was dry and overcooked, the mac and cheese was bland, the cabbage had no seasoning, and the lemonade I ordered tasted like a sunjoy (tea/lemonade)! The $13 I spent on food, I could have saved it for Legacy Grill on Oneil ct, because I have never had food so unpleasant everything went to the trash can!
Today, we decided to check it out. Great grab and go. We got curry chicken, jerk chicken, white rice, peas and rice, cabbage, mac cheese, and of course plantains. Service was great. Thank you for the hot sauce and the pine and ginger drinks (very yum). Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu.

Island Grill is a Jamaican restaurant in SC known for its delicious food. The curry goat had good flavor despite lacking gravy. The rice and peas were seasoned well, and the Mac and cheese was the first restaurant version that didn't need anything added. The plantains were a favorite among customers. The jerk chicken is highly praised, considered the best from any place visited. Oxtails are also popular, with many enjoying them as a reason to return. The staff is friendly and helpful, explaining dishes and offering discounts for students and military members. The restaurant is clean and maintains good customer service, creating an authentic experience. Sides like cabbage are appreciated, though some find string beans slightly undercooked but flavorful. The drink options, like island lemonades and PineGinger juice, are well-liked. Overall, Island Grill remains a great spot for those missing authentic Jamaican flavors.
