Best Jamaica food ever!!! I remeber when they started off on parklane then moved to two notch now on hardscrabble road columbia SC....Please I need a fix!!! Lol
I was craving brown stew chicken and oxtails. When I tell you it’s well seasoned and I’m loving it. I come here all the time!!!!
Horrible establishment and I hope they go out of business. I placed an order through Door Dash and my dasher told me they refused to make my order because of a discount code that was applied on Door Dash that was supposed to be inactive. Instead of accommodating their customers they're money hungry and would rather lose business over something that was out of the customers control. Will never order from here again.Update: Thanks for proving my point. You have too much time on your hands and will likely never succeed as a business. Have a blessed day.
Most unprofessional place ever. Ordered via doordash with a promo code. When my dasher arrived to pick up the food they refused to make the food because they said they were unaware the promo was still active. That is not my problem, that is a doordash problem and something that they should take up with doordash not me as the customer. They therefore, cancelled my order because they did not want to accommodate a measly $10 coupon. I will never order from this place again!
I called to ask about available items and was met with so much attitude. I asked if they had any fish she responded not doing and I ask about other items on the menu and she was very short and I realized the 200 dollar order I was about to place would not be with her. I do the cooking for holidays so always pick a place to feed my family and it is a shame that people act like they really don't want your business. Guess I will never know if they are any good, and with her attitude doesn't really matter.
I don’t understand why this restaurant is always closed….. it’s very unprofessional to allow customers to order from your restaurant via DoorDash, wait 2 hours for food, just to find out from the DoorDash driver that you are closed!!! This restaurant does a poor job managing their hours of operation on DoorDash and Google. On Google it says you guys are open right now and you’re not!! Obviously Management needs to do their job and get a grip on this! I will NOT be ordering from this establishment again, and would encourage others to check out more reliable Jamaican restaurants in the area.
The food was so good. I ordered oxtails, rice with peas, and.cabbage. The meal was absolutely delicious. This was my first time ordering and I will be back again. ?
Food is good but their terrible customer service & rudeness outweighs that! They NEVER answer the telephone so I'm forced to order through Doordash for pickup orders. If they are out of a "side" that I order they will substitute with whatever THEY want without even notifying me or asking if it's okay! The last time I ordered, Doordash offered me a promo code to use for 20% off any order. When I arrived at Island Paradise to get my food I was told they never prepared it because they "don't take promos"!That's an issue they need to discuss with Doordash, not me (the customer). So they'd rather lose an entire order & a regular customer than give a one time 20% off? Fine with me. I'll never patronize this establishment again.Response to owner:Sir, perhaps it is you that is confused. I contacted Doordash twice prior to writing this review. They informed me that a merchant DOES have the option to contact them when there is an issue with an order.I have a screenshot of my chat with Doordash stating this but, for some reason, I'm unable to attach it here. When I arrived at the restaurant, your attitude was extremely nonchalant about the situation. You leaned on the counter & began looking at your cell phone while I was still talking. That's when I told you to just cancel the order. And, yes, I was upset b/c you inconvenienced me by not preparing my food. I was omw to an event & wasted precious time (40 minutes) driving bk & forth to your establishment. The fact remains that you lost a loyal customer over a 20% discount (that was offered through Doordash). The site allowed me to apply the discount so how was I to know that you don't accept it????
Great place, great food all around, and generous portions. Only complaint is that you guys should answer your phone when someone wants to call in a order in my opinion it would make things a little easy on you guys and the customer.
I am all about flavor. My Brown stew chicken and cabbage was amazing. The macaroni was ok, I think I got the end of the pan...yet my other food made up for that small issue. I will be back!!

The rice and peas was scorched and could taste the burntness which made the oxtails taste horrible. This restaurant was at the top of my list for Jamaican food but because of this error it has dropped to the bottom. Take your time and cook quality food and if you burn a pot of rice or something throw it away dont serve your customers your mistakes.
Love the food, and the owners. Real Jamaican food made with people from Jamaica. Coming for years.
I'm in love with this place! Food was awesome, owners were great and noticed I needed help choosing what to get. We had the curry chicken with rice and red beans, and cabbage, and oxtail with the same sides. I am kicking myself for not stopping by sooner. Def will be going here again soon.
I don’t know where to begin! If God himself were in Columbia for Lunch, he’d eat here! Each bite had me dancing in the parking lot.Island Paradise is one of the best kept secrets in Columbia and one of the most authentic Caribbean restaurants within 100 miles.Jerk chicken is spiced nice and the sauce will have you licking your fingers and asking for more. Curry Chicken and Curry Goat were both bold and delicious.I’m not sure about some of the reviews below regarding occasional substitutions or a bit of a wait, but, to my non-West Indian friends, I’d say that’s solid proof it’s authentic. If you’re reading reviews and wondering if you should eat here, the answer is “yes!” You will not be disappointed! Even if you have to drive a bit, it’s well worth it. Big Up Island Paradise!!
This was my second experience here. & I will say I will certainly return again. The food both times was delicious. I have 0 complaints.
