Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I love oxtails, their oxtails were good, a little too salty. The menu said stew, make sure you order white rice with them. The jollof rice was good but different, I noticed little black pepper balls 🤔(not good). But overall I would return, other customers said the red snapper was good. I ordered an appetizer that was so good. Can’t wait to get that again 😋
Thanks Le Bambou 😊

Highway robbery. I called in my original order: Oxtail or goat Egusi soup with fufu (yam), red snapper, Spinach fish stew with plantains
Hibiscus pineapple drink.
They told me over the phone $87 but I have to pay over the phone. My husband had already left so I told him to just order when he gets there. I changed my order because it was only for me my new order of: Oxtail egusi soup with fufu
Jollof rice and red snapper. Hubby called me and says it’s $82 just for me!? I told him no no no no no, they refunded him $25 and he comes home with three items. 3 items no fufu and $60 out of pocket. Never again. The Jollof was not good and the fish was over cooked and dry. Fixings on the side was A1 and the egusi was good but I couldn’t enjoy it without fufu. I’ll be cooking this at home. never going back. Thanks

The food is real good and it's made to order I drove an hour to get there to try it because of the reviews. The only thing I don't like about it is that everything is à la carte, they have no plate or combination dinner. Other than that the food was good and the quantity was good. The hospitality of the cooks and the owner they were very nice

Tell you what... BAM!!! as one of my fav chefs would say. For my first experience, everything we had was outstanding! Oddly, I am the one who likes spicy food most in the fam, and I thought a couple items were fairly spicy. BUT the rest of my fam, who typically dislikes spice, disagree with my assessment. The Chicken kabobs were legit the best I have ever had! Le Bambou is a must try!

This spot has become one of my occasional go-to places since my cousin introduced me to it when I first moved to the area. I’ve been there several times, and the food is consistently delicious. I stick to my favorites, but from what I’ve heard, the rest of the menu is just as good.

I usually order the fried chicken, plantains, jollof rice, fufu, and pepper soup (with turkey or oxtail). The fried chicken has great flavor, though it does come with a lot of toppings. Personally, I’m not a fan of the toppings because I think they take away from the crispy texture of the chicken, but my cousin loves them. So, it really depends on your preference—just be mindful of this when you order.

The jollof rice is tasty, and the plantains are always cooked well. The pepper soup is a standout for me—packed with flavor and always satisfying. I usually place my order online, and my food is ready when I arrive. The process is smooth, and I’ve never had issues with takeout orders.

Recently, I dined in for the first time, and it was a pleasant experience. The seating area is small but clean and not crowded. The atmosphere was relaxing, with soft Christmas music playing and a TV with a little fire place video going. It’s a family-owned business, and the husband took our order. He was polite and overall kind, he did make a small mistake with my order by adding the toppings I didn’t want. Since everything is made fresh to order, I just scraped them off rather than waiting another 15–20 minutes. It wasn’t a big deal, but something to note if you have specific requests.

Now, about the prices. While the food is undeniably good and the proportions are well within reason, the cost is steep. My last visit left me a little shocked: $30 for jollof rice, fried chicken (two pieces), and a canned ginger ale. Paying $2.50 for ONE CANNED ginger ale that was not even served in a glass is outrageous. A case of 24 is literally $10 at Sam’s or Costco. To add to that, there was a hospitality fee and a $1.99 charge for the to-go box, which wasn’t communicated.

Overall though, the food and service are great, and I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try. Just be prepared for higher prices and some unnecessary IMO additional fees. For me, the quality of the food makes it worth it occasionally, but the pricing structure does give me pause on the frequency of my visits.

I decided to try this restaurant for a weekend lunch at the request of a friend. We arrived to the quaint and clean restaurant and were greeted almost immediately by a somewhat flustered but kind man. He was the only server to be seen while we were there, but he did his best to be attentive to everyone.

After he cleaned up for a family with small children, we were seated, given menus, and told he'd be right with us after he took another order. When he came back several minutes later, he greeted us in the native tongue of his wife's home country (Côte d'Ivoire) and explained the menu items as it was our first time there. He was thorough in his explanation of the spice levels of different dishes and reported what they were out of that day. We decided on the egusi soup, a cassava fufu, and the beef shukuya. All were very flavorful, especially the meat which was tender and well-seasoned. I cannot speak to it's authenticity, but it was tasty in general.

At the end of our meal, we were asked about payment (cash or card), and we split the bill, both paying with card. We were not informed of a 2% charge for paying with card beforehand, nor were we informed of a fee for taking our leftovers. My friend and I were both shocked to see a charge of $2 and $1.50 respectively for the takeaway containers. As a former server myself, I understand that policies differ from establishment to establishment, but it is always best to be upfront with customers about extra charges before they are handed the bill so they can make informed decisions about how to spend their money. It felt a bit dishonest not to disclose these things; and while we both paid and quietly left, we also both agreed that we would not return and would only recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food - and to possibly try something new - but we will be honest about our experience with the "hidden" charges. It's a privilege to enjoy a meal that has been prepared for you, but customers should always be in situation where they can make informed decisions about how much money they're spending to do so.

Parking: It is a small parking lot for the two or three stores along the strip. Maybe 15 spaces?

A friend from Sumter recommended the place to me but unfortunately I traveled down with my Nigerian food craving, not knowing they don't open everyday. That was disappointing.
