Food and service were great. The chef was hilarious having my family and the others laughing at his jokes while still providing an excellent dinner show.They were definitely short staffed and needing more help as the sushi was unable to be provided due to not having a sushi chef.

The chefs barely interact with the customers while cooking. And they cooked my salmon at least twice as long as necessary. It was inedible - hard as a rock.

I had my daughters sweet 16 birthday here we had 2 tables (19 ppl) we had 2 servers and 2 chefs. after the manager told me over and over the entire party had to be there to be seated (we were all there by 5:30 reservation was at 6) they didn't START setting us up til after 6. One of our tables had drinks soups and salad before we even got drink orders... the chef seemed irritated with the server and even more so because we had a guest with a food allergy... the one table had the works great chef with fun entertainment and a great server... our table on the other hand with the birthday girl had none AT ALL no fire no fun nothing the only thing the chef said the whole time was made sure our orders were correct... the other table was finished had desert before we got our food... right after we got our food the server immediately brought Togo boxes no desert and when we asked she said it was upon request ( the other table did NOT request it) one of my guests cleaned dishes off the table to make room and we wernt even able to do my daughter's cake... we felt rushed and the service was horrible this was the worst hibachi experience I've ever had and even more so for my daughters sweet 16 I will not go back and when I spoke to the manager she acted like she could care less and the resturant was not busy

This restaurant was beginning to be my quick fix regardless of the below average rating. I debating between a 2 star or 3 but I’m not as hungry right now. I visited the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and was seated immediately. Once I got to the table, the woman at the front wouldn’t allow my party (2 people) to sit where we wanted and stated she’s preparing for a party of 15 at the two tables. After waiting for 5 minutes, she began putting out menus for the party of 15. I asked how many people were they planning to sit at one table and she said up to 11 people at a table because they’re under staffed. The tables aren’t big enough for more than 8 people, especially while eating.

We understand the lack of employees and being overworked..however, that is no reason for the waitress being rude and acting as if we were putting her out by coming in. We had a party of 14 for my sons birthday. I've been going to this place for over 20 years, and I will never enter or recommend it to anyone again. I have also been a server for over 30 years and always overtip even if the tip is already included but this time NO ONE tipped extra due to the horrible treatment. If she doesn't want to serve, she shouldn't.

The lady who served us was a bit rude (slapping menus on the table, slamming drink cups down). She even tried to cram way too many people at the table. The young lady at the entrance and the chef were wonderful. The food and the portions were great.

Food is good. Interaction with chef was poor because he was wearing a mask, which is ridiculous, so couldn't understand him. He also lost out on the tip because they had an automatic 20%, to which I added nothing. If they are going to force a tip that is all I give. I would have tipped more on my own.

Visited this place because Miyabi was full, however, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and fellowship with everyone at the table. But our cook (I can't remember the proper name for them) was the best part. He had to grow up on the Southside of Hawaii. Lol hope your visit was as funny as ours because we laughed the entire time.

Food was awesome. And Ray the chef was very enthusiastic and engaging. The restaurant could use updating but food and service was excellent so our party of 6 was very pleased. Beer very cold.

Most unprofessional unclean restaurant I have ever been in. The host and waitresses are old rude women. The minute we walked in we were not greeted . She grabbed a phone call in the middle of us speaking and then walked away. Worst attitudes ever in the restaurant business. I also noticed a cook with blood dripping from his nose while he was cooking. We then left!!Take your business elsewhere, trust me

Very unclean. Grease dripping from the lights onto my plate!Chef also cross contaminated using a spatula for raw chicken as well as to toss food into peoples mouths.Completely overpriced. 23 dollars for a 10 dollar portion of chicken ?DHEC has been notified.

Yamato is and always will be (to me) the best hibachi place in town. The food is always delicious and the staff is always great. I love coming to celebrate important moments with them.

Not a good experience on Mother's Day. We orders they were watered down the chef didn't perform a show, and but gave us toooooooo much rice with less meat. So they didn't deserve a tip. But those sneaky devils add they tip automatically to receipt. It's call "Gratuity". I was so piss and told them to take the tip of my check. They did, but I won't be back. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECIPE BEFORE LEAVING.....

Staff is friendly but overworked. We didn't receive our salads or sherbert. The chef made accommodations for my meat allergy, thank you. However, the overall experience was not worth the $100 spent.
