We had a wonderful experience here.
So Delicious. We love the Distillery

Overpriced, the staff is inflexible, and they were rude to my wife. We will not be back, I would echo the sentiments of others that the old Daufuskie crab company up at Freeport is pretty good and the staff is much friendlier.

mis jobs

We were also able to purchase some of the products for home. We will be back Thank you

Finally got a chance last night to have dinner here and it was amazing! Entrees were perfectly cooked and presented well. Beth is an amazing cook and her love for cooking shows in her food! Table service was also excellent and all the staff was very kind.

Went to the distillery on a day trip from Hilton Head. Tried the Bourbon flight. Of the three offered, the three year was my favorite. That being said, all the spirits are insanely overpriced for what you get. $70+ for a marginal (at best) aged bourbon. Guess if you’re desperately looking for something to do while on Daufuskie you could visit, but I’d recommend Burnt Church Distillery over this place in a second, as this is really nothing more than a tourist trap.

**This is a must read**

Just took a visit here yesterday with my family and we had a horrible experience and would not recommend to anyone at all. My family and I are Hilton Head residents and we took a day trip over to Daufuskie as we had family from out of town visiting. Half of our party started off here at the Rum Company while the other half stayed back at Freeport waiting on some food to be ready. While waiting on the other half of our party to meet up with us we spent hundreds of dollars here at the Rum Company. We had multiple tastings and even bought Daufuskie Island Rum Company merchandise. The distillery was interesting to see but the liquor was nothing great to rave about. As our party was finishing up our tasting the other half of our party arrived and began to sit down and meet us on the outdoor patio to enjoy our food and more beverages from the distillery. Almost immediately after our party got settled outside our experience quickly took a turn for the worst as we had a staff member come out to the patio who very rudely (in a loud tone) told the children in our party that "outside food" was not allowed on the property and they would have to leave. The children (and adults) in our party were very respectful and left while part of our party went to talk with the staff member. My father shared his thoughts on the situation with the staff member and shared that he had spent hundreds of dollars at the Rum Company today and saw no issue with our party enjoying our food (from Freeport) and beverages (from the distillery) outside. The staff member claimed that due to a food license we were not allowed to eat our "outside food" on the patio. My father (who had already spent hundreds of dollars here today) offered to buy food from the distillery as well just so our party would be able to eat our "outside food" on the patio and the staff member rudely stated that we were not allowed to do so. This was very unfortunate for our party to hear as we had spent hundreds of dollars at the distillery just to receive this horrible service and treatment.

As a Hilton Head Island resident I know first hand just how important these local small businesses and companies are for our community and surrounding areas. It was disheartening to see a local business treat purchasing customers so horribly. I hope this review can help anyone planning to make a visit here to steer clear and choose a different activity to do as the staff experience and treatment we received here was appalling.

Went twice and had a great experience. Prior to our visit, I purchased a few bottles of the spiced rum to give my groomsmen as part of their gift. The rum is extra spiced and they’ve said it would be great in a mix like a hurricane.

I personally enjoyed the bourbon in an old fashioned and it was great! The blueberry lavender seltzer was crisp and clean.Refreshing for a hot day.

Tip- reserve spots for Wednesday night dinner ahead of time, even weeks or months before your visit. The food, wonderful people and family who work there and the beautiful property lead to one of our favorite meals on our honeymoon.

Great food and very good beverages. The bourbon was a little too alcohol forward but the rums and vodkas are spot on.

Really a darn great place to visit. We stopped by to see what it was all about and decided to stay for lunch, drinks and of course walked out with a lot of merchandise. Prices are perfect, food was good and the team was a pleasure to talk to. Anyone visiting must make it a point of stopping by.

Incredibly courteous and polite staff! Plenty of rum, vodka bourbon, yes bourbon and other infused liqor, plus & food selctions to choose from. location is super convenient. Kudos to all the staff(s). We will definitely return again and again and again! I would still give more than 5 stars if possible.

The best blueberry and lavender vodka! The lady knew what she was talking about! We did some tastings also. The food was great! Great atmosphere! Definitely will be back!

Dropped by on a Tuesday afternoon as we golf carted around the island. Tasted a number of different spirits and purchased a lavender rum lemonade. They also have a food truck outside and our late lunch was really good. Menu link below since I didn’t see it online.https://on-deck-diner-100758.square.site/
