Tried to go today (10/27/23) and they were closed. No sign. Goggle says they were open. We’ve eaten there before and it was the best food on the island. Would love to know if they are closed for the season or just today.

Great little place..we had breakfast croissants one day and lunch special which was a wonderful Carolina pork bbq sandwich. They are open on Sundays for lunch one of the places on the island. He has outdoor seating and plays jazz on Sunday which added to the beautiful relaxing

If you like grouper as much as I do, you should eat lunch every day at the Island Shack Cafe and get the grouper sandwich. We were on island for 3 days and I had 3 of the best grouper sandwiches on the East Coast. Service/staff is top notch and you get to eat your lunch in the shade under a massive live oak covered in Spanish moss. When on D.I. this is the only place you should be eating lunch!!!

came here for breakfast and it was just ok. two families were ahead of us so we had to wait quite a while (more than 30m) for our breakfast sandwiches. breakfast sandwiches were ok, but we heard a neighboring table praise the lunch food. wish i had tried that instead, or that there were larger and more interesting breakfast

Most unbelievably good pulled pork sandwich with fresh made coleslaw. Nice shaded patio with music and cold drinks. Great location to grab lunch on way to the beach. Appreciate the kids menu too!

Wasn't bad. Food was done well for what it was. As far as places to eat on Daufuskie Island I'd eat here or Daufuskie Distillery. Not that you have a ton of choices. But very overpriced. I do realize it's on an island but 24$ for 2 shrimp tacos is a bit ridiculous. The Distillery wasn't price gouging as bad. But cute little side of the road quick food. They were trying hard to be good. Good job guys

PB&j available for the kids which is great.We got the pork butt sandwich, which was pretty tasty, with a side of fries. Only disappointment wise the fries were cold and came with crab seasoning on them. Kids weren't crazy about it.Kid-friendliness: PB&J available

Island Shack Cafe was our favorite spot in Daufuskie! The food is amazing!! We tried the shrimp tacos, shrimp po boy, steak philly, and the hotdogs - all were delicious! Loved eating under the beautiful tree out front. Don't miss eating here!!

The chicken sub and burger were very good. Stopped in for lunch while on the island and was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. They also have beers which was much needed.
