Now known as Driftwood Diner. We came during the fundraiser and it was extremely busy. Order at the counter. Got lucky to snag a table inside but waited 65 minutes for our order. Food is served in baskets. Biscuits and gravy was delish but a bit hard to eat with plastic cutlery. Good sized order. Sausage and egg on Texas toast was decent. The plain Belgian waffle was ok but you'll need extra syrup. Trying to cut with plastic cutlery was nearly impossible. The side of bacon...
The Island Shack's new chef Angela is the best he's had. The food was so splendid. That fried chicken was exceptional; it made me think of home when all of my family is at the table eating grandma yummy fried chicken!
I didn't have time to have lunch at The Shack so took it back to the hotel for dinner. The grouper sandwhich was Delicious! Plus onion rings. Wish I could have stayed under the big oak tree listening to my favorite music of The Eagles and late 70s music. Great spot!!
