Went at 7, nobody there and the guy wanted to put us in a corner so I asked for a different table and he refused. Said there were a lot of reservations but the place was empty. Waited 20 minutes to find out some of the items on the menu weren’t even available. Still however, not another customer in the restaurant so we left. Will not be going back and locals on the island also don’t say great things about Ella and
Ollie’s. Very poor customer service.

I left a bad review on my husband's phone while he was in discussion with waiter regarding concern. An accommodation was made by the restaurant so this review is to help balance the emotional response of the first one.

It was our date night on vacation and our two granddaughters accompanied us. We were excited to share a fine dining g experience with them. They waited patiently along with us for 1 hr 20 min before food arrived. Mahi entree was tepid and dry. It was not at all worth the wait or what I would expect at a beach resort restaurant. Especially egregious was the fact that at no point did the waiter offer any type of explanation or extend an apology. When confronted, the waiter assured us repeatedly that it was not OUR fault. No kidding, Alex, we know it was not our fault!

There were six of us for dinner. Appetiters were good. But the three of us had fillets, it was horrible! We sent them back. The other three meals were ok. So disappointing but our waitress was fantastic

Service was great; however we waited longer than we would have like for our food. We’ll still be back! The food was exceptional and the drinks were great. Love this place!

Everything was nice but following directions with gps stinks! You need to clarify with google maps the correct way to get there .

Made a 7:45 reservation. Upon arrival, we were seated in the darkest corner of the restaurant beside the emergency exit. The light was busted on that side, so we could barely see. Even the waiter said something about it, but never offered to move us to any of the three open, illuminated 2 tops that were next to us that stayed open for the entirety of our meal. They were not busy at all and there were plenty of open seats. We proceeded to order some apps which included the Oysters On The Half Shell… these were awful. When you are paying this much at a higher end restaurant, you expect something more than plastic to-go ramekins holding the accommodations. Additionally, we were never brought oyster forks and had to use our dinner forks to try to eat the oysters. The oysters were not good. We tried one and didn’t eat the rest. The Grilled Mahi, and Filet were actually pretty tasty, although it was hard to eat the steak seeing as no steak knife was provided until we asked for one. Our drinks took a long time to come out but did make it out before our entrees came. Most of the waitstaff consisted of young adults probably working summer jobs, makes sense, but needed more training for sure. From two long time service industry workers, anyone bringing food to the table should clear empty plates after setting food down and should know the seat numbers to deliver food to the correct patrons instead of auctioning off entrees (happening all around us) at the head of the table making guests “claim” their entree. Overall, our waiter was very nice and personable even if inexperienced. The service staff could use more training. There was a surprise credit card processing fee at the end (in my experience, a higher end establishment will not pass this on to the consumer and considers it an operating expense). Definitely not money well spent.

Love Ella and Ollie’s. Never had a bad meal. So many delicious entrees. So happy we have them as an option on Edisto. Charleston quality. The servers are amazing, too. Highly recommend.

Visited this past Friday. Food was good (have certainly had better) but it was flavorful and hot. She crab soup was great.

Service was absolutely terrible. Our mere presence seemed to annoy our waitress. She was cold, indifferent, and only gave one word answers to our questions (after we advised her we had not visited the restaurant before).

For $350, our party of 4 could have gotten double the food and drinks at Whaley’s. We’ll be doing that next time.

It has been awhile since I ate here l, but I do recall the server and food were above it all. The server had her hands full with our party of 8 and handled it well. We were celebrating a birthday and it went very well.
I would recommend reservations for even a small party and plan to get there early to watch golfers and possibly deer run across the golf course. Yes, deer not a misprint. Enjoy
