“In our travels we like to find places to eat that are family-owned and boy are we happy to have found The Grind. On our way home from a beach vacation, we stumbled upon this charming spot, and we're so glad we did. It's quickly become one of our favorite places, and I wish there were a location in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area. I highly recommend trying the chicken salad and macaroni salad—they're absolutely delicious!”

“Just had the BEST chicken fettucine alfredo I have EVER eaten (and I've eaten a lot of fettuccine alfredo in my lifetime....even made my own sauce many times). SOOOOO creamy and flavorful, and plenty of sauce! The chicken was so tender. Also, the low country potatoes are a go-to for my family. Always so good!”

“This is the first time that I have ever had Shorty’s Grill and that was absolutely amazing. We got our food to go but when we walked in everyone greeted us with a smile and a warm hello. The ice cream shop is adorable and plenty of homemade ice cream to choose from, they also have a great little spot outside with picnic tables and swings to enjoy your cool treat! “Crust was excellent. Sauce was very good. All the pizzas are the same price. Which is great. Except when I asked if we could get 1/3 and 2/3 of different kinds. The first person said yes, when we picked what we wanted the person who took our order said nope, can only do 50/50. My husband eats a lot more than I do. I don't understand not being more flexible if all of the pizzas are the same price. We didn't order anything extra. But we went with the 50/50 and I will say the pizza was excellent. But we've done the 1/3, 2/3 other places (even when their pizzas are not all the same prices), and have never been told no. But we would definitely go back. Just know that if you don't happen to be in the mood for the same kind of pizza and it's just two of you, you better have the same appetite size. If not for that, it woul d have been a five for sure.”

“Stopped in on Wednesday and tried them out. It was all so good. Went back today (Friday) and got more.. On Wednesday I had Fried Pork Chops with rice n gravy, collards, green beans w/ Potatoes and cornbread. Today I had the Stew Beef, mac n cheese, rice n gravy, collards and cornbread. I also tried the chitterlings and hog maws. It was all tasty so I went back and got a box of Ham hocks with rice n gravy to-go. Great restaurant with great service”

“Delicious subs. Have had the BLT, pastrami, hero mixed and their salads. Everything is fresh and delish! We drive 20 minutes for their food! It's just that good! Customer service is great, too! You can have everything just the way you want it. Check their hours, though, as they close early during the week.”

“Lunch special comes with 1 trip to the salad bar. Shrimp & deviled crab were very good. I was very pleased with my lunch and would definitely stop again. Prices are better than the calabash restaurants I normally visit.”
